Tom2008
I'm and Archery Associate at Gander Mountain and the night was going by pretty slow. Usually we do some little projects here and there, but tonight was different. My Assistant Store Manager tells me to test some broadheads out. Well I jumped on that in hurry and grabbed a quite a few from the display case. The following were the broadheads I tested all weighing 100 grains. I shot each broadhead 10 times. Muzzy MX3 Muzzy 3 Blade G5 Stryker Grimreaper Razortip Grimreaper Razorcut Grimreaper Hades NAP Nitron ABC Liberty Heads The bow I shot these out of was a High Country Iron Mace set at 60 lbs DW, 27 in DL, 270 fps, 385 grain arrow, with 62 lbs. of K.E. The Muzzy MX3 broadhead is one that I really liked. While putting it together I noticed that the blades are really sharp right out of the package. It held up great while shooting and was pretty consistant. I'd either hit almost dead center every shot just a little low and to the left maybe an inch. The Muzzy 3 Blade was also one that held up well while shooting and the sharpness out of the package was the same as the MX3. Although, I could not get these to fly the exact same as my field points. They kept hitting low and to the left 4 inches, but just a little tweaking to a sight and they would be deadly. The G5 Stryker must of been one of the neatest ones that I shot that night. I like the idea of it having replacable blades, unlike the Montecs. It was easy to put together and held up well in the targets. The head never loosened from my arrow. Every shot I took with these I hit dead center. Grimreaper Razortip and Razorcut. I put these together, because they both flew the same for me. I had them both flying an inch to the left every shot. They held up well with the spring loaded system that holds the blades in place while I take the shot. Although I can not figure out why the heads would not open up once they hit the target. I know they open when hitting a deer though, because my assisstant store manager is a Grimreaper Prostaffer and he shoots them religously. I have 3 other co-workers that use them to without any problems of them opening up. The only difference between the two is the head. The Razortip is definatley the better choice to go with. The little blade on the Razorcut is very brittle, because just shooting in the broadhead target made the blade bend. The Grimreaper Hades Broadhead has a very tough design. It holds together like a champ. It shoots straight, but not the same as my field points. This head hit the target low and the left about 3 inches from the center. Again a little tweaking to a sight and these are deadly. The NAP Nitron is a small broadhead that flys exactly like field points, but they do not hold up well. The blades get dinged up pretty easily, although, they are sharp right out of the package. Its a great head with great accuracy, but it probably won't survive after 1 shot through a deer and into the dirt. American Broadhead Company's Liberty head are a really unique head. The blades are very sharp out of the package and hold together nicely if put together correctly. The 1 3/16 inch cut is an awesome feature for a fixed blad and these broadheads are truthfully advertised. I took 10 shots and I got 10 holes all in the center of the target. They held up well during the shot also. I know these aren't very professional tests, but this is what I got out of shooting all of these. I hope it gives some help to anyone who is looking at some broadheads.

Tominator
Wish you would have tested the Rage 2 and 3 blade. Seems there's a lot of controversy on that head.
earnhardts12000
nap crossfires do just fine too fly exactly like fieldpoints and replacible heads
Guest LIVEWIRE
Wish you would have tested the Rage 2 and 3 blade. Seems there's a lot of controversy on that head. I did the rage and field points test all the way to 50 yrds. printed within an inch of each other....last shot on the 40 yrd. target both were touching.....you already know WHAT they do.
