Strut10
Way tooooooo religious for me! Now there's something you don't hear every day. I'd much rather vote for someone who was "way tooooooo religious" than someone who was only.....say........"religious at acceptable levels". At least I'd know that the guy who is "way tooooooo religious" isn't just wearing his convictions on his sleeve for political expediency. He's real. "Real" is one thing Mike Huckabee is. Said it before. Say it again. Me & the Mrs. sat and listened to him speak about 5 years ago. Looooong before his aspirations about the presidency. He was the same guy then. He's got no game face to put on. What you are seeing with Huckabee is what you're getting. Even if I do not agree 100% with all his politics.......I rather like that. I get the same feeling about him. Romney on the other hand, I get the feeling he says what he thinks the public wants him to say. Two faced. Guest The Real Estate Rancher
Hucks The Man Huckabee will be able to save our Country - I am so exicited about him. I haven't thought this positive of politics ever - don't get me wrong I loved W, but not to the extent I want Huckabee to win. Yes, he is religious and who wouldn't want some one like that running the Country, everytime he says One Nation Under God he believes It! Every move he makes will be compassion Based. He is a forward thinker and has some great policies to bring to us. Think about it www.mikehuckabee.com
johnf
I think he lost a lot of "Face" on the tax question that Romney gave him because he wasn't ready for a response. The truth is he changed the way we are taxed and because of that, tax revenues went up in Arkansas. They went up more than he expected and we all got automatic refunds the following year. My wife and I got about $500 each. Through the whole thing his huge tax hikes cost my family a whopping $45 a year more. We did vote for a tax to improve roads and for education. I don't see how that can be put on his shoulders.
wtnhunt
Dont know how genuine Huckabee really is, I do like what he has to say, guess we will see. My first choice would still be Fred Thompson, but not looking likely at this point that he has any chance.
TreeStandBowHunter
Yeah, I don't think Thompson has a chance. I don't think he wanted it bad enough though either...
Jeramie
My vote will go to Huckabee too. IMHO you cant be to religious. Having a minister with real values in the White House is a good thing.

BowJoe
I have a couple thoughts on the whole topic. One, I think Wolf Blitzer is a punk and should be smacked in every interview he does. Two, I think the whole debate format is crap and should be redone. You wanna find out how a candidate really feels, ask them the questions before the show and video tape every candidate separately in a sound proof booth. Let no-one but the camera man know their answers and have them simply stand there as the same questions are answered by every candidate and played back for the audience. You will be able to tell if they are honest or trying to play to the audience and they have no choice but to back their response no matter the audience's response. Three, I think we need to eliminate the old codgers that just want to guarantee their chair in congress by running for our highest office. McCain is a joke. Romney is too much of a wuss. Thompson is one of the said old codgers. Guilliani is too little too late and all fluff. I hate to say it but I think Huckabee is the best choice for lack of a better one. stevebeilgard
well, i agree that wold is a punk thing. but, one must remember that he's just a liberal... or should i say just another liberal. but you're just a bit too hard on the "old men". one of them will be our next prez.. romney presently has more electoral votes than any candidate, republican or democrat. and thopson is finally opening up. he's the conservative of the whole pack. BowJoe
One of the things I have to give credit for is the ability of the dems to turn the other cheek so fast it'll make your head spin. Oh, I still can't stand the Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum show but I can't help but notice that they are coming on strong no matter what happens or what news gets around about their campaigns and personal lives. They have, of course, the media on their side and that always helps but it seems like they are being bolder and re-enforcing their position. I know it sounds like I'm touting them but it's more that I wish my candidates would step up all over instead of just at the debates. I'm tired of hearing my candidates get bashed by the left wing media and dem candidates but the only place I hear about their affirmation to not be defeated is on the forums like here. I think it's where the President went wrong. He took so much flack but didn't come back strong like he did when 9/11 struck. He sorta shut up and ignored the comments and relied on us to defend him. Well I got news. Even the most ardent supporter of the President gets tired of being the minority in almost every conversation. And what do you say to back yourself up when you're left holding the bag and the man won't speak up for himself. I just don't want another run of defending myself for everything somebody I understand says but doesn't come right out and say it to the rest of the world.
