horst
Filled my last muzzleloader tag tonight right at dark, tommorrows the last day so I took a big doe when she stepped out.Due to the fog and a little freezing drizzle there were several mistakes made by me.First when she stepped out i misjudged the yardage in the fog, and i missed it by a long ways, about 50 yrds to be exact.I thought she was 100 yrds out and she was closer to 150 yrds, a shot i wouldnt have probably tried on purpose.I got the gun up and found out the drizzle had frozen on my scope making it hard to see, tried cleaning the scope off and just smeared it around, found my scope covers after i shot in my coveralls pocket So anyway i shot and she went straight up in the air, kicked and took off, just about went down but caught herself and went on over the hill.I tracked her over the hill and found her lying about 40 yrds on the other side of it.Thought i hit her in the vitals, turned out i hit her neck Had the same effect but cant believe i was off that far with my shot.So thats 3 does for me this late season and even thouh i got a bow tag left i might just skip the last night and call it a year. EIGHTPOINT
Re: Well thats that. The southeast corner of the state where we hunt has been getting some ice storms by the looks of it on the weather channel. I like that you are shooting some does. It's refreshing knowing that chasing big racked bucks is not the end all for some . Congrats on your three doe harvests.
