stringpicker
Wanted to throw this out here to you guys. When sitting all day do think that is best to sit in the same stand all day or switch stands? I realize if the wind shifts it is better to move, but what do you think? I hunt in S. Georgia and the rut is just starting to kick in. Any suggestions or comments would be welcomed. Good luck to whoever is still trying to fill their tag (me included) and congrats to those who have filled it! :DMERRY CHRISTMAS:D:D James www.ronpaul2008.com
buckbuster11
That totally depends on where your stand is located. If your sitting over a picked corn field for example, that's probably not a good place to be in all day. The one place you really cant go wrong with an all day hunt, is in or very near thick cover. In the rut, bucks will be running around bedding areas all day. As long as you have the wind in your favor I'd sit there as long as you can stand it. The Kid
i would sit in the same stand b/c if your in a good spot where you been seeing does its only a matter of time before a buck comes out!!
bowin_in_illinois
The biggest problem with sitting in the same stand all day, is that wind and thermals will change throughout the day almost assuring that at some point in the day the wind will be wrong for that stand. gowest
Most of the stands are set depending on food source, travel routes, etc - and therefore work better in the morning or the evening. The exception is during the rut, when you need to be in the stand as long as you possibly can and frequently as you can. just my two cents. arrow32
Depends on the stand and how well deer move through all day. I have a couple stands I can sit in all day long and see deer. Others I would rather move to a different even tho I hate to if sitting in all day. See more deer or wait till evening to see them I'll move. Guest bowhunter56
I often move as the season progresses...the first week of our bow season, i'll hunt but watch movement, and move if i see a need to, then watch and move again, some seasons, i have moved 3 or 4 times, this year i moved my stand 4 times, then shot one..watch them and learn..
