Turkeygirl
Alright ladies, what does hunting mean to you? For me, it's about being out in nature, enjoying all it's aspects and also the anticipation of maybe seeing the game I'm hunting or even just seeing something cool like maybe a wildflower or a bird or something neat like that. For me it's also about being out in God's creation and re-connecting with Him and also taking care of His woods and field and water - if I see old shell casings or some trash on the ground, I'll pick it up. It's also about putting food in the freezer but more so I enjoy the anticipation of the wait.
Guest Andrea
Good post Ruth. I'm like you. I enjoy it for all those same reasons. Also would like to add that the adrenaline rush is a bonus too.
mrswtnhunt
Totally agree with you gals. I love being in the woods just to have a little peace and quiet. Just sitting there waiting in anticipation of what God might send your way, the adrenaline rush when you hear the leaves rustling behind you....what is it? is it a deer?..............Even if it is just a squirrel or a bird, it is still awesome and it sure does get the heart beating fast. And if I get lucky, the tenderloin sure is good.
Deb
Same here, ladies. But I also use the time to get my head back in sync. Like yesterday morning, get up in time to get out before light, didn't get there until light, couldn't get settled, couldn't see what I wanted, chair wasn't comfortable......the morning was full of 'nots'. UNTIL, a wren sat on one of my window flaps! Then my world was right! The chair still wasn't confy, didn't see deer, but that was all okay. My day had done a 180 just because I was out there and saw a wren up close and personal. Too bad most people do take advantage of God's 'little' miracles and enjoy the outdoors. cinch314
Agree with everything above. It just relaxs me, gives me times to think and ponder and get away from the everyday norm. Also, when I take a kid hunting, I love to see the excitement and look on their faces when they see an animal in the wild. Their faces just seem to glow from the thrill and anticipation of being with you. It is great when it is not your kid but if it is your kid it is even better and it just gives you a great warm feeling inside and makes you thank God even more for the priviledge of being there and providing you with the land and the outdoors and that little bundle(s) of joy beside you. Guest swmnk9training
I agree with you gals, it's about being out in nature, smelling the fresh air, and enjoying the sights and sounds. My favorite is to go out with my dog and work a field, even though a bird maynot flush it is still fun to watch her work. It gives me time to think, relax, and take some of the stress of everyday life off.
