Xbox360Player
Me and my brother are debating whats better remington 870 or mossburg 500 I say 870 he says
Tominator
Overall, I'd say the 870, but they're both good guns.
Born2Hunt
The 870. The fit and finish is much better than the mossberg but they both will pretty much function the same. I like the action on the remington but I like the safety on the mossberg. I have an 870 and a 835 and my first shotgun was a 500 so it can be said I'm a fan of all of them. str8shooter48
No contest the 870 hands down especially if you got an "870 Wingmaster" in your hands. Although IMO I'd say the "870 Express" is still a notch above the Mossberg. My only gripe with the 870 Express is it devalued the resale price of the Wingmaster. Rem308
I would say the 870 and I've had both. I never was that pleased with my Mossberg 500 that I had. I really like the 870 and haven't had any problems with any of them.

Cleburne
I vote for the 870. I have a 835 that I got really really cheap, is the only reason I bought it. But it is not like the 870 just my two cents.
Randy
870.
Shaun_300
Definetly the 870! I love my Wingmaster, I've killed tons of ducks and grouse with it, fits me perfect and I've never had one problem with it.
Yellowhammer
Another vote for the outstanding 870.
brownie65
I have to say the 870 also. I have several Wingmasters & Express's in 12 & 20 gauge. Great guns

Guest Kelbo
i bought a 870 12 gauge 5 years ago, and i would hate to know the number of steel shot 3 and half inch shells it has had shot through it. It even floated down the St. Francis river for nearly 1/2 mile and still shooting great. never had any experience with a
Guest bighorns2bushytails
i own 2 rem 870's i like them both. ive never shot a mossburg but i hear they are all comprable. the 870 seems very popular amongst many groups of people and ive never heard anyone say anything really bad about them. Adjam5
I have no Remingtons and 3 Mossbergs one 500 and 2 835's. Mossberg is the BEST value priced shotgun on the market. If you compare it to the Rem 870 its apples and oranges. The Remington is a much more of a steel and wood gun. Whereas the Mossberg utilizes plastics. A 870 to a Mossberg 500, I'll take the 870. An 870 to the 835, gimme the 835. Good Luck!
3whunt
I hate my mossberg. Love my 870. nuff said
bluelund79
Love them both, my 500 is my slug gun, haven't even tried the bird barrel, turned my 870 into a turkey gun (new stock), bought a 935 for waterfowl and a Silver Reserve for upland. After shooting my 870 for everything for the last 17 years, it was time to get some toys! Have to love reenlistment bonuses and an understanding spouse...
