rad_112176
Hey guys. I leave tomorrow on a hunt in Pike County. How much is the typical tip that you give your guide? This is my first paid hunt so i am totally lost on what is fair. Thanks for the help.
Guest bigalt78
i wouldnt give him a dime. You already paid a good amount to hunt there im sure. I'd tell him put me on a good buck and if he couldnt do that without a tip i'd tell him to get bent lol

Texan_Til_I_Die
Do a search in this forum for guide tipping. There have been several threads about that subject.
tped
I think it is subjective based upon the experience. I usually think about 10% of the hunt cost and go up or down from there depending on the experience I had. Have to remember you also have a cook that should deserve a tip also - I usually figure about $10/day for the cook unless they are horrible. rad_112176
Thanks tped. The hunt has been a blast so far and plan on tipping well over 10% and planned on tipping the staff also. Thanks for the info.
Guest Trapper243
I usually take whatevers offered.I myself like to be treated like my clients wanna be treated. Then again I usually do the little extra things like touring the clients around town and taking them out shopping and sight seeing aftre the huntings done. Guest Finn
I don't understand the whole tipping thing. I pay $3500 for a hunt, now I'm expected to pay another 10% to the guide, $10 a day to the cook, and something for the maid? Maybe the outfitter outta pay his guide more if he's good and fire him if he's not. tipping has become insane....the mailman and garbage man want to be tipped at Christmas, fast food places have tip jars.....I've about had it. Rant over.....think the above suggestions are right, I guess
