Guest csod08
Archery and flintlock muzzleloader season opened up today here in PA. My brother went up to my uncles this morning and they did lots of shooting at doe, but they didn't get anything. I'm heading out with my bow this afternoon looking for a buck. I can't wait to get back in the woods!

wtnhunt
Good luck. Considered getting back out with my bow after getting it back even though the rifle season is open, not going to happen though. Still have not had a chance to get back over to the shop to get my draw length set for me.

All I saw were 6 doe in a field when I was driving out this morning. The only problem was it was pitch black.
buckbuster11
Saw a big 5 pt yesterday morning, not legal of course. Had a 8 pt and an undentified buck come my way last night. The unidentified spooked, not sure why, but the 8 eventually came my way. The 8 would have been dead meat if I didnt have to pass up shots while trying to varify points. By the time I was actually ready for a shot he was about 20 feet away. One of the straps on my safety belt got caught in my whisker biscuit rest as I was bent half away around the tree with binos in one hand and bow in other. As I was trying to slide it out, he nailed me.

Oh I can still get out and will still get out to hunt with a rifle, but I have a stand up behind my neighbors barn I had kind of saved to hunt with the bow. Never did hunt it this year a single time. Would have been nice to slip over there with the bow a few times late this season.

Back here in Northeast PA that 5 point would have been dead in an instant. Hopefully you get another shot at that 8 point. It sounds like you had a tough time with him.
