JJL
What's the deal with this stuff??????????? $125.00 per 1000 rounds. Black Hills, Wolf, RMC and a few others. I have to suspect that this is re-loaded Gov. ammo, but, does it shoot OK. Or, do you get what you pay for? Thanks JJL
AJ
Re: .223 Cheap ammo ? ? ? ? It depends on what you expect. If you are looking for paper punching ammo that shoots decent, its ok. If you are looking for the tightest groups possible and long range accuracy, you are way off. Govt brass is good stuff. I often use it in my .223 Rem and my .308 Win. Once the primer crimp is gone its just as good or better than the commercial stuff. I have shot some Black Hills ammo in my flat top and it shot decent. Nothing near what the gun is capable of, but it is fine for holes in paper or just a day of lead slinging.
Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: .223 Cheap ammo ? ? ? ? I can get 1 inch groups with some of the "cheap stuff" out of my old Savage 340 (I think that's the model), but it has always shot great and isn't at all picky about what you feed it. robk
Re: .223 Cheap ammo ? ? ? ? if your wanting to throw some lead down range then the military ammo as it is called is more than good enough and cheap enough that you don't lose out when it comes to buying more down the road. the magazines are still costly but if your a varmit nut or coyote nut then it is worth it to try it out. your looking to make a decent shot and take a critter and the cheap ammo will dot he job rob k
