LifeNRA
In my 33 years of hunting, I don't think I ever seen robins this late while hunting. Yesterday while my father and I were hunting the second archery season. I seen about 20-30 robins on top of this mountain. Dad seen a few of them. Anybody else seeing robins in PA or north of PA? Shaun_300
I think the last ones I've seen were in rifle season in November, even that's late to see them for us!
VermontHunter
Thought I was seeing things the other day until my parents comfirmed what I saw in the feeders ... stevebeilgard
my guess is that it's a sign of a lighter winter cold wise. robins generally leave early. more proof of global warming... lol
OJR
Global Warming! LOL!!!

LifeNRA
I havent seen any in quite sometime. see any deer? Well........Thats another funny thing! I seen deer all during the first archery season, and the rifle season! Not a single tail of one since after Xmas! This is private land too! I am thinking that I need to get lower near the farmers fields.
RangerClay
I saw my last robins on Veterens Day and I saw several of them. Very late for around here. Being that I am located on the eastern shore of Lake Ontario I get to see most of the birds (and the monarch butterflies) heading south in the fall and I see them heading back in the spring because they fly around the lake and not over it. I live in a great place to be an ornathologist (aka bird watcher:D)
007hunter
Been seeing them here also while out grouse hunting. Thought it was rather odd also...
Guest csod08
Haven't seen any robbins around up here in a few months.
ruttinbuc
Not strange at all. For as long as I can remember there have been male robins staying over for the winters.
Tominator
Not strange at all, some robins don't migrate. Here's a quote from BirdWeb: Migration Status Most robins are short-distance migrants, but some do not migrate at all. American Robins can be found year round in Washington, although most often the birds that breed in Washington migrate south and are replaced for the winter by birds that nest farther north. Large migratory flocks can be seen in spring and fall. http://www.birdweb.org/birdweb/bird_details.aspx?id=
buckbuster11
Funny you should mention that. My brother and I were out last evening also and I bet there were 100 robins all around us for about the first 20 minutes we were on stand. Strut10
Haven't seen any robins lately. But there were a bunch of bluebirds about a week ago. Global warming........yep.
LifeNRA
All I know is this, come fall in my area. You never see robins! To actually see one this time of year is strange. But hey! If it means a milder winter so be it!
Adjam5
I agree it is late for seeing Robins. We put out those Suet cakes for the birds when the snow covers the ground. We have been seeing Robins in the yard eating what falls off the feeder. Yes it is kind of late to be seeing them.
wtnhunt
Think we were seeing them here last year around this time, but have not noticed any around here yet this season.
wyohunter
weird, we seen some while pheasant hunting here in wyoming too... was plenty cold, so i dont know why they havent moved south....unless they want to stay away from southeners
ruttinbuc
Robins will scurry and make a lot of noise when intruders like deer enter their space.
Strut10
Funny that I'd reply to this thread last nite having seen none..............only to have a lone robin fly in and land right above my stand this morning and sit there for over an hour.
