buckee
I'd take it to a bow-shop and get it checked out good, just to make sure it hasn't got any cracked limbs, or need a new string. Get them to measure you up to see if it is the proper Draw length for you, because if it isn't, there is no sense even trying to shoot with it, if you want to be consistant. If everything checks out, then by all means shoot with it. A used bow of any kind is a great starter bow for the beginner archer. At least it will give you an opportunity to check out archery, before you sink a lot of your hard earned money into it. Did it come with sights, rest, release and arrows, etc.?? carbonhunter
Re: Just recieved old bow from freind, ADVICE???? Arrows and a rlease would be my suggestion. I think release is much easier to learn than fingers, I learned the hard way and once i went to a release it made a world of differance. Delaware huh, is that delaware, Ohio or the state of Delaware??
buckee
Re: Just recieved old bow from freind, ADVICE???? Yeah, get yourself a release for sure. Finger shooting is mainly for traditional shooters with long-bows and recurves. The guy at the bow-shop will help you out I'm sure. You might need a few more arrows too. When you go to the bow-shop, ask lots of questions...
