LETMGROW
This past season we were going out to hunt with our muzzleloaders and it began to rain. I ranted a bit about the powder etc. getting wet. The next thing I know my wife comes out with a zip lock snack bag she had zipped up and cut the end off from. Slipped over the barrel it stayed on without a problem all afternoon. Now we are all using the same thing. Simple enough and it will last for years. Lynn P.S. Happy New Year to all! wtnhunt
Thanks for the tip Lynn. Have heard of people using different things such as black tape and little rubber covers, guess the bag would work well too.
PA_RIDGE_RUNNER
Keeping your powder dry can be a problem in our sport. Thanks for the tip. I use a flintlock in our primitive firearms season and that presents a whole new set of problems in keeping your powder dry. I have used plastic bags, zip lock bags and even the cling wrap to cover either the muzzle or the lock.
