Guest Finn
Espn said his next stop will be the Hall of Fame.....is he a guaranteed Hall inductee? Was really happy when he went to the Raiders, because we barely heard from him after that. Not a fan.
buckbuster11
Not a fan either. He was pretty good though back in the day. I never would think of him as a Hall of Famer though.
muggs
HOFer...... No way. Solid player, but he's no Jim Brown. They really need to limit the guys who get in. Oh yeah, not a fan....

buckbuster11
I just looked at his stats for fun, and for a defensive tackle he's got some pretty good numbers you have to admit. 96.5 carreer sacks....now for a DT that's a pretty big number. That's 28th on the all time sack list. 7 Pro Bowls 1 Defensive Player of the Year 1 Super Bowl Ring Hall of Fame worthy? I dont know. Good Numbers, not Great and that's the difference. I think all DT's get compared to Howie Long. I don't have Howie's stats real close but a comparison would be interesting. muggs
Come On BB11, we all know what stats mean. Here's some stats for you Lou. 46,233 career passhing yards good enough for 6th all-time, 275 career TD passes which is 8th all-time. That should be HOF worthy right? I mean, if we just look at the stats...sure. Those are Vinny Testaverde's numbers bro...he's not a HOFer... Again, stats can paint a picture...but you have to really look into what's behind the numbers.

muggs
Sapp had a few years of in double-digit stats, and one 16.5 sack season. In his prime, the guy could get to a QB better than any DT I've seen play. I guess he's got the numbers, but really, I'm not sure how he was against the run, so it's hard to say. You asked anyone who knows a thing or two, Vinny's never lived up to what was expected of him. He's had an average career...a long career...but average. Ummm...I know where you're going with Hank Aaron (as in half-way decent numbers for a lot of years etc...) but yeah, he deserves to get in for sure. I'm just saying Vinny and Aaron's careers are somewhat comparable............ Aaron might not be the best example but, he is a guy like Vinny who just had a lot of nice years and his longevity let him get a bunch of records. The guy won 3 gold gloves, 1 MVP, and led the league in HR's one time in his career. There are boat loads of guys with achievements like that. Vinny is high up on a couple of big time career lists. Just like Hank. So why shouldn't he be in?

Not to mention, the guy was the career home run leader, beating out the likes of Babe Ruth. If Vinny was #1 in yards and/or TD or wins or something...maybe. Or if he won a Super Bowl as a starter or something. But if that guy can get into the HOF- I think the integrity of the HOF would take a hit. But then again I don't know how many voters look at that kind of thing.
