randyoitker1
What the guessing game was about Well the story behind all of the stupid picures about me. Last Oct. the NWTF sent a camera crew to film a fall turkey hunt with me.The weather was pretty nasty it was windy and cold. After we filmed the show we were riding around on our family farm and even though I am sponsored by Yamaha outdoors as a Yamaha sponsored athlete. Marc one of the camera men from the NWTF, decided that it would be neat to film the Badboy buggy crashing through a little pond that we have. We made a few passes through the pond, when we kept going deeper and deeper,we got out to where it was too deep and got it stuck in the deep mud. Brian another cameraman called my dad and said Marc and Randy were playing in the pond and got stuck. We were stuck so bad that we had to get the tractor to pull us out. Marc and me came up with this bright idea to get some kind of sled and a rope and do some REDNECK pond surfing. If that wasn't enough we decided to find some stupid stuff to wear. I found this old bicycle helmet that my aunt had bought me years ago, that I had never wore because it looked so stupid and these pink sunglasses that belonged to my sister. This sled that we used is actually a wood hauling sled. How the splash happened, I was out in the pond hooking up the wench cable to the tractor and Marc ,being the wonderful guy he is ,as soon as he got the Badboy pulled out of the pond he hurried up and made a trip back around the pond and crashed into the water sending a tidal wave over the top of me. I had on my brand new, never worn before, Scentlok suit, brand new Lacrosse boots and I was soaked to the bone. My boots were full of water and my Scentlok suit was covered in pond water and mud. So, from this point on it was all out fun. We took turns pulling each other on the sled through the pond faster and deeper and more reckless. Brian, the only adult of the bunch, stood on shore with the cameras rolling. We had a blast all afternoon. I never thought that they would actually use some of this footage. When Marc and Brain sent me a copy of the new intros for Turkey Call TV and Get in the Game , my friends didn't believe that it was me. They said that it didn't look like me. When the NWTF sent me some still pics. off of the video I thought that it would be fun to do the guessing game, so I called Buckee. I will be sending out a nice surprise to Rangerclay for being the first to guess and a little something for the runners up. I turkey hunt but I primarally hunt big game like whitetail and other big game but i do like turkey hunting. I have done quite a few things in the past with the NWTF. When I was performing last year for Cabela's at the NWTF convention in Nashville. Brian (cameraman and editor for Turkey Call) came up to film some of my shooting. After my show, Brain asked me if I actually hunted . I told Brian that that was my life. I just do the shooting to help pay the bills so I can go hunting. So we set up a fall turkey hunt. I am not going to go on and on about details but I am the first to tell you. I am not a world renowned turkey hunter. So to make things short and sweet, Brain and Marc are great cameramen but between all of us with the bad weather and fall conditions we didn't know how we was going to get this show done. So we all put our heads together and I called a good friend of mine,Don Hardy,( age 70+) the inventor of the waterproof turkey call and custom call maker. I asked him if he would come and help us kill a fall turkey. I haven't seen the finished show just some clips. After it airs on Jan.22,26 & 27,on the Outdoor Channel, I might not be a Realtree Prostaff anymore , heck I might not even be allowed on the forums anymore!:D I want to thank Marc and Brian who are a couple of great guys and great cameramen , we had a blast. I want to give a special thanks to Don Hardy for putting up with us juvenile delinquents. I would like to ask everyone to say prayer for Don, he is a prostate cancer survivor. When they were doing tests on his progress they found an aneurysm on his aorta. He is scheduled for surgery the end of this month. Thanks to all for playing the game! I hope you get a chance to watch it. Randy
