Strut10
I was shuffling through some pic files and found my favorite from last spring. It's a neat little Realtree HD Green effect photo of my boy. He was 9 at the time of the photo. We had just climbed a very long, steep hill in about 80 degree temps and struck what we thought was a screaming hot tom. We got lots of gobbles. But the bird wouldn't agree to die that day. I really liked our little hideout of a setup. So I told Bub we'd get a picture of him all ready to go.

Here: Here: And here: Oh yeah what's up with Hally Caller? They still have a site? Hally Caller has been sold to one of our pro-staffers......a guy by the name of Frank Lapp.....from New York. Good fellow. The website is still there. It hasn't been updated much. But the phone number at the bottom of the home page is current. http://www.hallycaller.com/fr_index.html?/
Strut10
. . . I'm sure great memories go with that snapshot from last spring. You betcha!! That was his first day in the woods hunting anything. We had birds roosted the night before. But his older sister drew the long straw & got to go out at first light. She ended up missing 2 longbeards in 5 minutes. Bub got to go out at about 9:00. We thought one was gonna commit suicide right from the setup in the pic. But the bird decided to live to die another day. Bub will never, ever let his big Sis live down missing tose longbeards. He still tells her that if he'd have drawn the long straw.................... Rhino
Great pic and great looking setup to bag a beady eyed ol' tom Don. If only he'd a drawn the short straw.
Strut10
If only he'd a drawn the short straw. Don't I know it. Him and his Sis are both VERY good shots. But Bub.......at his ripe young age........has "steelier" nerves than his Sis. I do believe he'd have shown his sister the first longbeard that stepped up to the plate that morning. Rhino
Is it who draws the short staw this year or 2nd last year goes 1st this year? In either case I hope to see pics of both of them with one slung over their shoulder this year.
