stevebeilgard
Andrea, you're going to think I'm crazy, but this isn't a joke. The ladies that work for me swear that if you'll put some Vick's Vapor Rub on your feet at night before you go to bed, then put a pair of socks on (to keep the rub from getting on your sheets) it will keep you from coughing at night. Honestly I havn't tried it yet, since I haven't been coughing, but again, they swear by it. It's worth a shot! by gosh, andrea. we've hit it! my mom did that to me 50 years ago, and i forgot. also, smear a REAL THICK coat of vikcks vapo rum on your chest. be sure to wear a tee shirt to so it doesn't get on the sheets also. you will be cured in the morning! Guest Andrea
Hmmmmmmmm, seems to make more sense putting it on your chest, but why the feet????
RangerClay
Tomorrow I will go get some cough meds from the pharmacy with codiene. And hopefully that will help. Thanks y'all. Just remember you need a perscription for the codine stuff. It will make you a little loopy. I would definately stay away from OJ!! It contains citric acid which will irritate your throat and make you cough more. Try something more mellow like apple juice and tylenol every 4 hours. The tylenol will sooth any irritation and the apple juice will keep your throat moist. If you have any hard candy keep popping those till your stomach gets irritated. KenW
Try Buckleys cough and cold mixture. It tastes really bad, but it works great. Also you could try fisherman's friends extra strong lozenges

Guest Andrea
In the beginning the coughing was productive. Now it isn't at all. It feels like it has settled in my chest. May wind up going to the doc after all. Grrrrrrrreat. Gonna try the Vick's first though.
BowtechsWife
Can't help with getting you back in the stands, as I haven't found anything to help during the day. I've been using Nighttime Tylenol Cough & Sore Throat cough syrup with Cool Burst - taste real bad, but it works. I get about 6 hours of sleep with this stuff. Guest Andrea
I slept with my head elevated last night. Didn't cough as much. Not feeling as bad as yesterday but it's early yet. Yesterday I swore I was gonna need a lung transplant.
wtnhunt
Think you should get in to youor doctor Andrea. If you have bronchitis, you will likely need an antibiotic to kick it. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
Guest SRAII
No, not recently. I read somewhere about taking large amounts of vitamin C though. So I just took 2500 mg. Ever done that? did you have hair on your chest this morning?

Ohiobucks
I don't have any ideas on stopping your cough, but this ought to help your poor husband get some sleep at night, it may help you in the deer blind as well.....just use one of these for the next 24-48 hours non-stop..... http://www.coughsilencer.com/index.htm Good luck Andrea, I hates me the coughs.... wildside
Like you, Andrea, I've been battling a horrible cough that needs to go away! So, I read the posts on your thread and tried the Vicks Vaporub on my feet last night. . . needless to say, when I stepped into the shower this morning I very nearly fell square on my behind! That's some slippery stuff. Hope your new line-up of meds works wonders.
