Before and After

So, I went to Best Buy last night. Many a tragic hit to my bank account has began that way. Well, it happened again.

This is how I used to watch TV- on a 27" set, like an animal. Ignore the crap on top of the entertainment center, I took this in process of breaking down the old unit (The Raid can was found behind the old TV- no idea how it got there )...

Also notice the Anime crap my nephew watches.

The new system. Samsung 50" Plasma, Toshiba HDDVD player, Harman Kardon 1000 watt Home theater receiver (pictured in the pic featuring '300') feeding my existing Cerwin-Vega and Bose speakers as well as a newly purchased Klipsch Synergy center channel loudspeaker. The flash from the camera distorted the picture a lot, but it's sharp as a tack. Comcast will be coming out soon to set me up with HD TV.

I went ahead and picked up some HDDVDs as well. The player came with 300 and The Bourne Identity, neither of which I'd seen before. And I bought some of my favorites- Goodfellas (best movie ever), Casino, Constantine, The Big Lebowski, and The Matrix Trilogy.

Goodfellas

I can also now play video games as they were intended. I need to get back there and straighten out those wires, but I neglected to get any cable ties.

Well Steven, about the same thing happened at out house yesterday!

The only difference is that our new TV is a 40" Sony, LCD! Sorry Andrea, I messed up on the screen size!

Our old TV quit and we got this one! What a difference! The hunting shows were super today along with the football games!

I don't have a HD box, but I cannot believe how clear the picture is! I will check with Direct TV tomorrow to see what the cost is going to be for the HD box and how much per month!

By the way, this TV cost more than the first car I got!!

Anime crap???? Boy, that's Sasuke from the Uchia clan.:D He is currently at Orichimaru's trying to become stronger so he can kill his brother Itachi. Naruto rules!!!

LMAO..seriously. I'm a huge Naruto fan. Not sure if your nephew knows or not, but the Naruto series has already ran in Japan/China or whatever. So you can go on YouTube and watch the episodes ahead of time. I'm actually 20 episodes past the one that will be coming on Saturday.:D:D:D

Steve, I agree with you on the anime junk. I can't stand it. I couldn't stand it when I was a kid!!! Remember "Speed Racer"?? Japanese animation just creeps me out. BUT--------my kids love it. I don't understand. Whatever happened to Bugs Bunny, Yosemite Sam, Daffy and Sylvester?:confused::confused:

The wedding pic is my best friend and his wife and the baby pic is my cousin Natalie (I've posted a million pics of me and her before) and her son Ethan who just turned 1 on new Year's Eve.
