JasonLester
Ok after laster night I have a question. Why is it that smoke alarm bateries only run low (and start that annoying churp) iun the middle of the night!?!? Then it takes a while to figure out which on it is. And of course it was the one in our 11 month old twins' room. LOL Why is that?

buckee
I have already thought twice in the last week, if I try it again buckee might ban me!! :D LOL:D:D Those aren't smoke detectors. You bought the wrong ones. You bought the low battery alarm instead. Read the small print. It says right on there .."Low battery alarm" :D
stevebeilgard
what they suggest is to replace the batteries every year on a certain date, say new years day or your birthday. i do it, and i've never had one go chirp off on me. those things are there to save your life. don't unplug them for sure. Now that makes sense.... Nope I'll never remember LOL Seriously though. I know your supposed to try and replace them every year. I know I did last year sometime. It just seems one usualy catches me before I remember to do it. And its ALWAYS in the middle of the night. I never would pull them unless its only until morning so I can sleep. Plus we have 4 within 6-7 feet of each other (hallway and three bedrooms) so We are covered even with one unplugged. In fact we installed a couple in the basement when we built a couple rooms down there. They are wired into the others as well. I had a 9v so I just swapped it out last night after figuring out which one it was. Somehow I managed to do it in the dark without waking up the babies. Today I get to head to the store for 8 more batteries.
