My first buck!

I took this one in muzzleloader here in Ohio, on my 5 or 6th time out ever! He's a 10 point with an 18 1/2" inside spread. He field dressed right around 200 lbs. My boyfriend took me out to a spot he's familiar with on a local farm and set me up in a blowdown that made a perfect seat/gun rest about 15 yards off the field....when we first went in we saw a doe, but I couldn't get a shot on her before she was gone. Awhile later, at about 4:15pm, just before dark, we heard them coming and got ready. There were at least seven deer altogether coming up a trail to the field to eat. After some issues with my safety, and listening to Todd tell me to "Shoot these deer" (He was pointing to the right where there were does 20 yards away) I finally got the one I wanted in the scope. It was getting dark so all I could see was the tree it was standing next too, it's sillouette and the white from it's chin. I took my shot from about 60 yards. The deer fell immediately. When Todd asked me what it was I told him "A big doe"...I thought it was, until we were 10 yards from recovering it...and I realized there were antlers.

Todd got a good one this year too during Gun Season, He's really tall. Poor guy tagged out before Muzzeloader, so he was stuck with me ;)

He is real wide...I am happy with him for sure, but still a little disappointed that his brow tines are so worn down, but either way, he is a wonderful buck to look at on the wall!
