stevebeilgard
o.k., it's time to let the cat out of the bag.. You've read the teasers for over a month now. Here's what's happening, and i think it may happen fast. For months now, devious plans have been shaping up for Gillette Wyoming. I'm entertaining a few very special guests, and some of you may want to come also. this September 5 to 10. Here's who we know are coming to Gillette, to hunt antelope on some pretty special property. Mr. Realtree himself, BUCKEE Tim Andrus Randy Oitker Vermont hunter, Luke, in the flesh Travis (t-bone) Turner is still a maybe Scott Hughes. (here's your chance to "get even") A few others not yet fully committed. And, if someone gets really stupid, you can hunt with me. As you may remember, Buckee has had some serious medical problems, and has not been able to work. Just before Christmas, we had a little collection for him. well, i suspect his funds are not flowing freely just yet, and we've set up this deal to help him out. Here's what i'm offering: select your favority pro, and hunt with him. the cost will be $1500.00 per hunter, which is half of what i used to charge. you will be responsible for your own food/lodging/travel. camping can be arranged. ALL FUNDS WILL BE USED FOR RT FOLKS, starting with Buckee. Maybe ending with him, too. We'll see. THIS IS ARCHERY ONLY (firearms doesn't open until Oct.) First come, first served. If you want to hunt with Buckee, and get your check in after someone else has him, you're out. Simple as that. I expect all hunts to sell fast, but i've been worng before. So, if all hunts do not sell by february 15, I'm selling them on ebay, where i know they will sell fast. I'll hold a spot with a pm sent to me. in fact, pm me with any questions, or whatever you need. CAUTION: there will be at least 2 camera crews present, representing different shows. If you come with someone, make sure it's someone you're supposed to be seen with. I'm not going to reveal who the cameras are, or what they will be doing. But, if you've ever wanted to have a chance of being on t.v., well... maybe. No promises as the cameras will go where they think best. There are also two more film crews still thinking, so it could get real interesting..... I feel this may well turn out to be the realtree trip of all trips. I promise great hunting, and feel a 100% kill is probable to certain. I simply cannot predict weather. Rain will hurt, of course. You'll see hundreds of antelope each day, and have a great opportunity to harvest a Pope & Young buck. You can also take does, up to 5. I'll simply do whatever it takes, to make this a dream trip. You'll be in a blind over a waterhole, with antelope all around you. So, go do the dishes, vacuum the house, and get the lady some flowers. also, promise to bring her along. non hunters may come, at personal expense only. Or, if it's a lady hunting, bring the guy. I it's a "signafant other," leave it home. lol Come on out and LET'S HUNT! THIS IS ARCHERY ONLY Area 23, type

Randy
You have absolutley no idea how bad I would like to do this. Unfortunately there is no way I can swing it this year. I have a lot already planned and with a little luck I'll be heading that direction on a very special hunt for Mule deer in Oct. Steve, once again thank you for being who you are, and doing what you do.

wtnhunt
That sure sounds like that will be a great time. Wish I could make the trip, but really dont see it happening this year. Just about ready to give up our animals here, being tied down to the farm here with no support really stinks.
Tominator
You little sneak you. I remember us talking about this when we had Buckee's fund raiser, but didn't hear anything after that, lol. Wow, really cool you are pulling through for Steve. Sept. 5 through 10. Does that span labor day? That's usually the first week of school, and I know I'm going to have a new principal next year as our current one just resigned. Hmmmmmm, I'm a definite maybe. stevebeilgard
who cares about school. this is hunting. lol. fact is, i haven't thought about labor day. i'll look at the calander, and maybe earlier dates will work our better for all. we'll see. and luke, it wouldn't even surprise me to see a few surprises...lol. i always try to include a few "extras"... Tominator
Who cares about school? Ummmm, a teacher should care about school, lol. I only get 3 personal days a year, so If I combined this with labor day, and a weekend, that would give me 6 days max. I'm a long shot at best. Would really like to do it though. stevebeilgard
Here's just some teasers of what kind of Antelope to expect out of this hunt ... ;) I believe there's only a couple more spots available folks ,,, better not sit on the fence too long .. now, luke. if you look real closely just to the left of jjl, top picture... you'll see a bit of blue water and a blind in the backrop, just above the water on the right. that's your blind, luke...... 2nd spots gone, since jjl is going bring his son. two more real close, and i'm holding the postions. i want to sell only one more spot, and keep 2 in reserve and not sell them. we'll see how this all pans out... also, i can't promise antelope like the one's pictured here. i also have a few big ones.... VermontHunter
now, luke. if you look real closely just to the left of jjl, top picture... you'll see a bit of blue water and a blind in the backrop, just above the water on the right. that's your blind, luke...... Looks to be a great spot.... What the distance to the near waters edge from that blind ?? also, i can't promise antelope like the one's pictured here. i also have a few big ones.... One of those BIG ones had better be mine .. :D Just kidding I'd take any one of the 3 being showed ..
stevebeilgard
the nearest water to the blind is 4 yards, the far point is 44.5 yards. and there's a 20 mph crosswind. here's a tip to all---- get out in the wind and practice crosswind shots. the more wind the better. our average here is 22 mph. expect 90 degree days, 45 degree nights, and wind. or, we may have a blizzard (been known to happen) and the 3 being shown are big... Canuck2
I might have to shoot more than 15 yards? Wait a minute - that's less than 55m, isn't it? OK, no problem - except for that cross wind. We get very little wind here, so it's going to be a challenge just to find days that I can practice shooting in conditions like that. I know what you mean, though. I was hunting near Casper about 15 years ago and the tent near about migrated to South Dakota. Luke, you can have the doe that's with the P&Y buck that I get. ruttinbuc
Wow, I would certainly like to come, but once again my plans for 2008 are already set. I'll be taking my available week and heading to Iowa in hopes of running into a big whitetail. The cause is certainly just. Wish there was a way I could do it. stevebeilgard
o.k., folks. a small poll here... if you were ruttinbuck, how many would change your plans....
VermontHunter
The key thing in my mind is that Iowa isn't going anywhere none too soon and this Antelope hunt is a once in a life time deal,, and as it was already stated by him ,,, IT'S CERTINALY A JUST CAUSE .. ;) If it were me, I'd be hunting Antelope with a bunch of great guys ...
