JJL
I sense that there's an "Elk-Back Mountain" story in here somewhere. You guys make fun of the "dancing-queen" who is a ficticious character that live in the realm of my sub-concious, and has never ventured out into the real world. Yet, you speak of cold-nights, sleeping bags, sharing tents, and warm fires. Now I'm getting scared. Thank God for Howard Johnson's.......................... LOL JJL

JJL
Consider yourself blessed. October is nice in Gunnison. There's over 12 feet of snow in that area today with nightime lows running from -15 to -25.

silvertip_co
are you serious? I checked to be sure and was told the 15' of snow in Gunnison valley should be melted and gone by 1st of September so we can plan to hunt 2nd or 3rd rifle. 3rd might be better as they said it would be warmer than -33f then too.
