Rem308
Well folks, I went out squirrel hunting again this morning, and it was a great time to be in the woods. There was a real heavy frost here in WV and I got in the woods around 8:00 AM. I sat for a little while and didn't see anything but a heavy fog began rolling in. I could hear a few squirrels up the hill from me, so I began sneaking up on them. I saw a couple but wasn't ready, and once I got settled down, I ended making the shot on the first one. As I picked him up, I could hear another, and so on. By 10:30 I had 3 squirrels in my pack, and I figured that was enough for the day. It was starting to warm up, and the long walk up that hill had me pretty warm. I tell you, this squirrel hunting is normally just a way for me to get out in the outdoors after bow/rifle season has ended here in WV, but it's now getting pretty addictive! It's amazing that something like a tree-rat can get someone so pumped up, but hunting them is a challenge in itself. Hope everyone is doing alright. Alisha
Great pics! Where in West Virginia are you from? I live in Raleigh County but hunt in Kanawha County on some property my family owns. I'm gonna try to go after the tree rats one more time before the season ends. Like you, it's totally addicting! ... and good eatin!
Rem308
Yeah, I live in Huntington. It is plenty of fun, and really sharpens the senses when you put on a stalk. Good luck out there.

Rem308
Yep, I can't wait till October rolls around again. I normally go out squirrel hunting a little bit in the early fall and use the time to scout for bow season. Then when bow season goes out, I use the last few weeks to focus on the bushytails.
