Colts / Chargers

Finn makes a good point about that phantom holding call on Cromartie's TD...the refs were doing the best to hand the Colts that victory and it still didn't help them...against the Chargers 2nd string offense no less.

Sorry Colts fans...no excuse for how many times your team blows home field advantage, on the dome field that team was built to excell on.

Choke job...plain and simple.;)

 Boy am I confused. . . on this thread there are only two obvious Colts fan. . . and both of those fans have spelled it out in plain English that THERE ARE NO EXCUSES for how the team played against San Diego. There is NO ONE TO BLAME other than the Indianapolis players themselves for the outcome of the game. Credit the winning team.

So, where are these mysterious "Colts fans" who you claim are trying to excuse the way their team played? Not to be found on this thread, that's for sure.

Talk about beating a dead horse. . . or a dead Colt, as the case may be!!!!! :p

I can hardly wait until this weekend's games so you can go after some other unsuspecting football fan for what he or she might post.

If that was the case, where was the flag on Rivers for what should have been back to back delays of game? He had just been flagged once, very next play clock was at 0 and the center still had the ball. Would have made it 3rd and 13. How bout the Colts getting flagged for holding away from the play on an incomplete 3rd down pass resulting in an automatic first down. How about the hands to face call on Diem in the 4th that ended up costing the Colts 40 yards of field position? Yeah, the refs sure were doing everything in there power to see a Colts win:rolleyes:

Dont feel sorry for us, that superbowl win last year when nobody gave us a chance makes this loss easier to take. I enjoyed it, even got a chance to hold the lombardi and get my pic with it. Not too many people get that chance.

Excuses...excuses... Colts fans are the Newman to my Seinfeld.:D

But you do bring up a good point, that one Super Bowl win has really helped the majority of America to overlook Peyton's numerous home playoff losses. 4 out of 5 years or something like that...isn't it?:o

But all were hearing is excuses.

I know of a fine and reputable hospital where you really should have your hearing tested.

As for Muggs continued preoccupation with this thread, I think that I finally see what's going on with that. . . . .

Muggs = Browns fan.

Colts win final regular season game = Browns make it to playoffs.

Colts did not win that game = Muggsy boy's beloved Browns went nowhere.

That chip on your shoulder towards the Colts/Colts fans is obviously a boulder, Muggs.

Again, that same fine hospital that performs hearing tests could surely fit you in for surgery to remove that ugly and obnoxious Colts-hating growth so stubbornly attached to your shoulder. Heck, since you'd surely be booked in the pediatric OR, I'll be so kind as to make sure to be in on your surgery to "help".

Unfortunately for Peyton, winning a title is a team deal. Thats why a QB can throw for 400 yards and 3 scores and still lose like he did on Sunday. When your defense gives up season highs across the board and gives up 3rd down at 60 percent clip, you will lose.

And no where in the above post were any excuses made. I was simply pointing out the MANY flaws in your conspiracy theory.

I thought about this last night too, but didn't wanna bring it up. But you are right, i'd say thats the problem. I was unaware a fan of the Browns had any right to talk about choking. When was the last time that team ever made it to the playoffs? Furthermore, isnt CHOKING exactly what they did against the Bengals to miss the playoffs yet again?

Dude...how quickly people forget.:o You need to learn your history, because during the many years your Colts were the joke of the league, the Browns had always been a very good franchise...until it was stolen from the fans and moved to Baltimore, that is. Colts' fans should know about stealing franchises, that's how you guys got that good team from Baltimore.;)

And how do you guys think you got Peyton? Many, many terrible seasons led to a #1 pick the Colts finally got right...that's how. Good teams don't draft first overall bud. And as soon as he retires, that franchise is back in the crapper and the frontrunning fans will desert them...like they used to do.

This is all fine with me, because then I won't have to hear their excuses as to why they can't win a freaking home playoff game, with a HOF QB, a team built to play on turf in a dome, and all this against a team missing the best RB in the league, their starting QB, and the best TE in the league....

'nuff said bud.;)

What's so bad about having excuses when your team loses?? Every single member on here would do the same thing if their team had lost.

I mean, come on, we all know Muggsy is the king of excuses.:D

I will guarantee you if the Dodgers make it to the WS this year and lose, I will have at least 4 or 5 good excuses.

:D:D

A true fan never takes a loss lying down, if you ask me.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with excuses...I'm more concerned with the fact that he's making excuses and not realizing it. It's freaking me out man.:D

Umm. . . how do you think we "guys think" the Colts "got Peyton"? Every team has it's highs and lows - it was great when he was drafted and still is very cool to have an awesome QB. It's nice to see success come to all NFL teams at one time or another. How boring it would be if the same team won all the time?! Any true fan of the sport knows that . . .

About "the frontrunning fans" deserting the team "like they used to". . . I simply have to laugh at that one. Anyone who personally knows me is well aware of the fact that I've been a dedicated fan since 1984. In fact, I continue to wear all my gear, as I, like so many other true team supporters, am always a fan - win or lose.

Finally, "'nuff said bud" . . . do you really mean it?!!! Someone pinch me. . . are you honestly going to stop talking such nonsense?!

A true fan never takes a loss lying down, if you ask me.

Amen on that one!

Then, please, take a chill pill and calm yourself down. In fact, take two. :p

You guys are playing into the muggs' hand.

The more you respond, the more you validate.:D

Or, rather, could it be that he is actually playing into ours? ;)

Nonetheless, I've read enough posts throughout the forums to get what you're saying about that Muggs fella and how he works.

Truthfully, I'm having fun. :)

I figure I should humor him every now and then. As much as I get him worked up on occasion, its the least I could do.

:D:D

Kev, admit it, I can get your goat any 'ole time I feel like trying.:D

But hey, what fun is sports if we can't rip on each other's teams, ya know? What it's all about- if you don't believe me- come join me for some tailgating prior to a Browns game (especially if we're playing the Ravens, Bengals, or Squeelers).;):D

btw- wildside, I wasn't referring to your comments, when it comes to woman I'm a gentleman. BUT I was referring to that colts188892843984 or whatever...they guy throws around excuses like Romo throws INT's.

I'm confident you are a gentleman . . . I never thought otherwise. Besides, no need to give me special treatment. I'll talk smack with the best of you.

Just remember, though, like stevebeilgard's marriage recipe thread of today says, when all is said and done, the woman is ALWAYS right. :D:p;)

What am I thinking. . . didn't you just get engaged? Yeah, you already know all about that . . . or will very soon!!!!

Actually, the ring arrives today. I think I'll be engaged with a week, but I'm not 100% sure when I want to give it to her. I am taking her parents out to dinner this weekend to ask for her hand though. I told them I had "an important question to ask" and "to keep our dinner a secret from Sarah."

They're big boaters, so I'm going to bring a bunch of boat catalogs and pretend like the important question and the big secret is that I plan on buying a boat for us and surprise Sarah with it.:D:D I have to mess with them a little, and I'm sure they expect nothing less.:D

Just what excuses have i made. Show me once where i made an excuse and said that is why we lost the game. I believe i said the Colts deserved to lose. Believe me, if i wanted to make excuses i could, but i wont. The officiating was not an excuse, that was just to show how off your idea of the refs trying to hand it to the Colts was. If that was the case, 2 of the biggest calls in the game would not have went against Indy, would they?

They got outplayed, by the guys who were on the field. I don't see what is so hard for you to understand about this. Yeah, they missed Dwight Freeney big time. Did i say that is why they lost? NO. They lost becuase the Chargers had better depth in key areas. Again, that is no excuse, that is a fact.
