:(

Well my Lab would have been 14 this March but I could not let him get any worse. He has been loosing weight for about 2 months due to finacky eating, and has had a few accidents in the house he never ever did before.

I could take a few of those but he started limping bad on the front leg as if it were killing him. He had a fatty cyst removed from it 2 years ago the size of a grapefruit under the muscle. He had been on Phenobarbitol for 12 years, and Rimidyl for the artritus for 2 years.

I just could not stand it and took him to the vet and had him put down yesterday morning. He had many good hunts in his life and was pampered better than most children as we have none.

Rest in peace Vito!

Sorry for your lost of your best friend :( He is in a better place now and sounds like he lived a long and happy life. I had a yellow lab named Jenny for 11 years and at age 2 she started to have seizers and was on phenobarbital her whole life till she started having them everyday and i had to have her put down :( They are like part of the family . R.I.P Vito

So sorry Kirk. I know how you feel. It is never easy. But he is no longer in pain and he lived a very long and happy life. I know those words don't take away the pain and guilt but time will help. I miss my dog very very much. There won't ever be another on like him...
