screws to fill holes in barrel

I just took the iron sights off of a Remington Model 700ML that has a scope mounted on it and I'm trying to find out where I can get some of those little screws (preferably stainless steel) to fill the holes left in the barrel.

I tried Gander Mtn. last night, but no luck. I also need to figure out what size they are, so if anyone knows that, it'd be helpful as well. Surely there must be some place that has them.

Thanks.

When your gun was new the screw holes for the scope mount had plug screws installed from the factory. If you by chance still have those they'll work just fine. If you don't have those you can buy plug screws from Brownells.

The thread size is 6-48.

Thanks for the replies. Brownells seems to have the best selection and even has most available in stainless steel.

The problem is they all seem to be .125" long and the holes in my barrel are only .100" deep so I really think I need to find some shorter ones, 1/16" instead of 1/8". Guess I could file them down but that seems like a real pain.

Got the screws from doubleA and they worked great. I don't get to spend as much time as I'd like on the forum, but I'm always impressed with the help available from the true sportsmen (and sportswomen) that can be found here. Thanks again doubleA.
