davetucker Posted January 17, 2008 Report Share Posted January 17, 2008 am looking to buy a new handgun.want a 40 cal or even 45 would work.been real proan to these guns since my latefather in-law had a realsweet 40cal.i had one at one time but not for long my no good for nothin step-dad sold it on me when he was to lazy to go to work.can't really remember what it was for make but have been looking and looking for one and can't find the right one.all i really remember is that it was ss and the barrel was longer than all the ones i have found.my thought was s&w or davis but can't find it in either.does anyone now much about the calibers,and how are the ballistics on them,(distance,drop,velocity,etc...)your input would be greatly apreciated. I personally carry a .45 Colt Officer's Model, but the .40 is a good choice as well. As far as the brand, I would look at Glock, Springfield , Sig, and Kimber. There are alot of cheaper brands out there, but if you are looking for a personal defense gun then I would not risk my life to save some money.
