Turkey Loads

When I was shooting strictly lead or copper plated lead loads, #5's were my personal favorite. They had better patterns than #4's and they hit harder than #6's.

But of late, I'm into the newer "Heavy Shot" loads. They hit harder than lead and carry better energy levels all the way out to the 40 yard marker. The Nitro 3" H378 4X5X7 plated Hevishot load is my current favorite, along with the Rhino choke tube sized .660, it's a real turkey thumper out of my Win 1300.

My local pro shop turned me on to fiocchi's pheasent loads! They shot so much better, with more penatration! Not to mention makes my 20g. kick a lil harder! They are nickle plated copper coated lead pellets! #6's 1200fps 3" 20g.
