johnf
My wife just can't cook worth a darn. I knew that when we got married 14 years ago. I had a long day yesterday and when I got home my wife said she would cook dinner. I cook probably 90% of the time or more, the other 10% we go out or she will microwave popcorn. She went for the whole deal last night, corn on the cob, steak, rolls and vegetables. The corn cobs were still frozen, the rolls weren't burned, but they were hard as a rock, the vegetables had no seasoning in them and were just microwaved inside the bag and served and the steak...................... She broiled it with no seasoning at all at 450 for about 15 minutes. Well the steaks were thin cut and she cooked it well, well done to the point that we couldn't cut parts of it with a steak knife. I love my wife. I think I'll make dinner tonight.
Tominator
Must be something about teachers--we all seem to do 90% of the cooking. Actually, I do probably 98% of the cooking. Thankfully, my wife is a decent cook.

RangerClay
Must be something about teachers--we all seem to do 90% of the cooking. You said it mister!!! I do 98-99% of the cooking in our house. You are lucky Chris. My wife cannot cook to save her life.

Tominator
so I need to look for a teacher?? I love having a man cook for me Well, don't get too excited, it's not because we want to, it's because we like to eat, and we get home early, and if we waited on our wives to cook, we'd be eating at 8 o'clock every night. I don't mind cooking.
johnf
My wife doesn't work, so that argument doesn't work for me. Cooking is actually really relaxing to me. My wife doesn't get the whole multi-tasking thing in cooking. She does it all one dish at a time. She still hasn't figured out that if you want fresh iced tea for dinner you have to start it first, not last. I thought you were already married southerngirl. buckee
My wife's Mom never cooked either. That's her story and she's sticking to it. Oh well. I don't mind cooking most days, but sometimes, I'd just like to lay back and have someone else do it. Diana likes my cooking, so I can't complain too much. johnf
I had some leftover smoked deer ham that my mom hid away for me in the freezer at Thanksgiving and brought down to me last week. I took some chunks and made some casidillas with it and made some refried beans. Mmmmmmmm.

preacherman
My wife is a great cook! Our schedule though doesn't allow us to be home a lot together at "supper" time! For instance, this week my wife has a church meeting tomorrow night, Tuesday night we are invited to a church members house and then Wednesday night we have church. That only leaves Thursday and Friday so my wife will probably cook those days!

I think in the 5 years the wife and I have been married, she's maybe cooked for us 4-5 times. I think she figures once a year is plenty. wtnhunt
Why not teach her how John? My wife is a fantastic cook now, but when we first got married she could not cook to save her life. Fortunately she picks up on stuff pretty quick and was willing to listen to me.

johnf
Bless her heart. I made dinner tonight. Nothing special, tuna helper out of a box, fried corn and rolls. My wife decided to help by makeing iced tea. How do you screw up tea? Don't know, I didn't watch.
Dubie
My fiancee is a decent cook. Reasonable to expect from a home-ecenomics teacher. However, I cook all the wild game and fish, and anything on the grill in the warmer seasons.. Seemed like a good balance to me, until I realized I keep enough wild meat and fish in the freezer we rarely ever have to actualy buy meat....
