wtnhunt
Dont recall ever seeing this posted in here before. A lot probably have tried this before, it is worth trying if you have not. Marinated some veni steaks in kraft zesty italian dressing for the day yesterday, then cooked them on the grill last night, in the sub freezing temps:p. Used kind of thin cut steaks(about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick) cut from the hams. Have done this with chicken plenty of times before, but never with deer steaks. They turned out great, the kids really liked them:cool:.
Rem308
This is how I normally do my deer steaks...the marinade really adds a lot of flavor, because the Italian Dressing has all those spices and such that stay on the steak. I cook them nice and slow on the grill, really is great.
Guest Andrea
Sounds good. We grilled deer steaks yesterday after they'd been marinated in "Dale's Seasoning". That stuff is f-i-n-e!!!
RangerClay
The longer you leave it in the dressing the more it will tenderize. We use Wish Bone and that is my kids favorite too. Funny you mention steak thickness. I cut my own deer and all of my steaks are about 1/4-3/8" thick. I hear people talk about how tough their venison is and they just don't realize that you cannot cut venison as thick as beef.
