This also calls for a solid underlayment where the stuff we used was put on over steel framing.

This was another issue I wanted to address,, I want the single layer of shingles removed and I want my whole roof lined with Ice and Weather Shield, before the steel is layed.. Overkill YES,, but i shouldn't ever, and I do mean ever have to touch this roof again .. ;)

To me the Ice and Weather Shiels just acts like one large self sealing gasket .. NO LEAKS .. always a good thing .. :D

your right there luke. the ice and weather shield will seal it up tight. rather expensive but you should be good for a long time with a set up like that.
