stringpicker
I'm new to duck hunting and I wanted to get some waders for next season. I'm looking at either the cabelas brand or lacrosse. Wanting to get your guys opinion. I plan on getting something that has 5 mm neoprene and at 1200 grams of thinsulate. I plan on being in the $180-$200 range so let me know what you guys think. Or if you guys have something else that you recommend let me know. Thanks. James W. www.ronpaul2008.com
lil hunter
If you're gonna spend that much, I would look into a good pair of breathable waders. They will be more comfortable, especially if you ever walk into your spots, you won't sweat as much. In neoprene you will sweat, which will make you cold after you've sat down for a bit. I can't really help on individual models, all i've ever worn is Redhead Bone-dry neoprenes. They get the job done, but aren't much more than that, and neoprene rips easily too. Leo
Watch the box retail stores this time of year. Academy Sports had neoprene hodgeman's on clearance for $50 last week. As far as sweating too much in Neoprenes, that's true. Wearing just high quality long underwear, smartwool socks and a pair of shorts under the neoprenes keeps me pretty comfortable. Try expedition weight polypropolene, under armour cold gear or Drakes wader pants(thumbs up on those with stirrups!)
DU_man_84
ive always owned cabelas waders, and they performed for nothing but the best, ive had 2 pairs in nine years, they have been great, im gonna get the 4mm heat retaining cabelas waders though for next year, i know alot of people that have them and say they are awesome
