Tom2008
What does it do to your bow exactly? I've accidently have done it a couple of times. I really didn't think it mattered much. Just bring it inside and let it warm up.
Straight Shooter
Heat "NO"/Cold "shouldn't matter" Main thing to worry about is heat on limbs. Excessive "confined" heat for long periods of time will cause the limbs to explode during shooting. I would worry to much about it this time of year, but I wouldn't make a habit of it during the summer months. Cold weather just makes them stiffer and maybe create an extra creek or two during the draw, but you get that as well; after sitting in the tree all day and then drawing. Dubie
Only, after sitting in a tree all day before the draw, the extra creeks don't come from the bow... I don't worry about my bow getting cold. However, I do like to avoid shooting outdoors in the extreme cold (-40 type weather). I don't know if it would hurt, but I'm a little on the paranoid side. Besides, its no fun being out when its that cold.

toddyboman
What about if you leave it in your truck or out in the cold for long periods of time and THEN bring it inside to the warm.... Will that temp change hurt anything????
Dubie
As long as you just leave it to warm up in a corner somewhere, it should be fine. I wouldn't go hanging it over the wood stove, or setting it on a heater vent or anything. I've left my bow in my car all day while at work, then go to the indoor archery range, browse around the proshop while I let it warm up a bit, then go shoot it no problem. Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
I'm thinkin this post may be because of mine from last night . I had last mine out in the car for a good month, I brought it in and it did start to "sweat" a bit from the temp change, but after I wiped it down and just sat it there with the case open it was fine. ny garyyamamoto
i have never heard of the cold but i have heard if you leave it in on a summer day it can gert 110-120 degrees and the limbs can crack
Southerngirl
excessive heat can also increase wear on some strings, but mainly it's the limbs you gotta worry about
HUNTINGMAN
I dont leave my bow in my case very long, exspecially the vehicle.I dont think the cold would hurt to bad,I have taken mine out in snow, ice, rain and all bad hunting conditions and never had any problems. This may be because I shoot a mathews or just being fortunate.Looks like the heat could cause stress on the limbs and break down the wax on the string. brownie65
Mine spends all its time out in the garage at whatever temp it is. Have never had a problem. Don't know if there is anything to it or not but I have always wanted mine to be the same as the outside temp when I go hunting so it either stays in my truck or the garage. Guest bigalt78
i wouldnt worry about it the least bit in the winter. The only thing you'd have to watch in the winter is someone breaking in and stealing it well where i live at least you do, but seriously watch the heat in the summer time. Do not leave your bow in your car but only the time from when you leave your house to go to shoot. When i was shooting my mathews ultra light i left my bow in my truck for a day and that night i went to go shoot and i heard my bow making a funny noise as i drew back so i let it down and then i say **** with it and start to draw again and it did it again then i inspected the limbs and they were pretty much pealing off and splintering. The bad thing was i bought it from my buddy who got it from his uncle who bought it from stingers archery and the owner mike is a really cool guy and he got me brand new limbs from mathews for free and they were the same old school pattern and everything. but yeah man i would just watch it in the heat.
