Jeramie
I was asked to sale my bow recently. I may do so. If I do im thinking about the fred bear truth. From what I read they are around 315fps, 80% letoff, etc. Suppose to be great bows. Anyone have any experience with one?
Gator
Jeramie, I shot one when I worked at the archery shop this summer. Really not a bad shooting bow, especially for the money. They are coming out with a Truth II, not sure about it though
hutchies
The original Truth had some problems with the cam. I hear the truth 2 is supposed to be much better. The local shop always has the Bear bows lined up for factory repair work. 9 times out of 10 is it the cam.

Gator
Wow just did some checking. The truth 2 is pretty high.....$649. For that you could get a freakin Mathews!!!!! Think I'd buy that just for the resale later on if you decided to sell!!!!

Guest ohbowhntr
There are LOTS of good bows out there, don't just focus on one, especially if you haven't shot it yet. I shot just about everything available in 2007 that I could get my hands on. I personally didn't like something about the Bear Instinct and the Truth. They just felt a little cheap, to be honest. Can't say anything about the new ones since I really haven't had any experience with them. As far as a nice bow for the money, I really like the looks of the "TecHunter Elite" that Gander Mountain is selling, looks to be a Diamond/Bowtech design, single cam that offers a nice 7.25 BH with a 33.5 A-to-A and and IBO rating of 317fps, all for $499, seems like a pretty good deal, as long as you don't mind buying a Gander Mountain bow. AdvantageTimberLou
Jeramie, If anything your in a great predicament right now as there are a ton of 2007 models with some great prices. Dealers moving them out to make room for the 2008's! Their loss, your gain!! Don't be afraid to search the classifieds over at Archerytalk.com as you have some dealers on there moving out new bows in boxes at great prices too. Plus you have individual sellers. Even big box stores are slashing prices and giving great deals! So you might be able to get a high end bow (possibly new) possibly used but at a great price!! Good luck in whatever you choose! oldreloader
Yep, Jeramie I just called the local shop. Truth is OK. The element is the one they have all the problems with. I've had a Element for a year.I personally havent had any problem with it.For the money it's a great bow.I was at my archery shop when the Bear rep was showing the new line for this year. The Truth 2 is an awesome bow.they also have several nice bows cheaper but the 2 did impress me.I may sell my Element and try one. There is no way that the TecHunter Elite is 499.99. It just came out this year and it sells for $699.99. I work at a Gander Mountain and we would have ours at that price if it was that low too. The only bad thing about that bow is that the cable comes off really easy. You could lift it off the pulley with your finger if you wanted to. Same with the Diamond Marquis. Gander Mountain and Diamond teamed up last year I think. The Elite is a Marquis, TecHunter Extreme is a Justice, and the regular TecHunter is a Rapture.
