sskybnd
this year has been trying to say the least, never seen a deer in the stand all oct, missed 2 deer with a muzzel loader in nov. shot at an eight point twice in one day 2 weeks ago but missed becouse i missed judge the distance. so i took this friday off to bow hunt, on the way to the lease i hit a big doe, i hit her on the drivers side of the truck, she floped a few times on the road and was still, thought great i broke her neck no wasted meat to say the leased i was happy, i thought wow i got a deer and have some meat, so i went to the lease and was going to wait till light to ckeck her in, as i was sitting in the truck at the lease drinking my coffee i turned to look at her and seen she was breathing like a race horse:eek:, i jump out of my [ford explore] and opened the back, she was kicking but wasnt able to stand up so i grabed her back legs and brought them close to her body and layed over her, and with one hand finely got my knife out of its scabert and tried to stab her, she gave another kick and almost made me fall, than she jumped out of the truck and ran away, so no deer and its goint to cost me 95.00 to replace the head light assembely and no deer, think i should call it quites for this year. archerjg
Well I had $2,300 in damages to my truck from a buck and he was all I ever saw within shooting distance that is. I kept at it, but my season ended when bow season came back in. BOth bows are down and I just have not had time to fix either of them. Don't give up just yet. wtnhunt
If you still have season open, would keep on hunting. Sounds like some bad runs of luck I would get.

Dubie
That reminds me of the time I shot a beaver with a .22. Threw the 'dead' rodent in the trunk of my old K-car, and was heading home. I start hearing this noise from my trunk. I pull over, pop it open, and there's this beaver, looking at me. (And I'd shot it in the head). So, I grab it by the tail, pull him out onto the road, and put another round, point blank to the back of its head. It died again, and off to home I go to skin it out. I set up my table with plastic, set the beaver down, go to get my knife all sharpend up in the other room. Come back, am about to make the first cut, and the dead beaver wakes up, freaks out, and starts running around my house...I had to chase it down, catch it, wrestle it back outside and shoot it a third time... Washi
It could have been worse. She could have went into the front of your vehicle and kicked holes in everything and then exited through your windshield.

Bowtech_archer07
Wouldn't give up just yet. Everyone has bad luck. Heck, this was the first year since 2002 that I haven't gotten a deer with my shotgun. I found out after second gun season, that my scope was a piece of junk, which boosted my confidence a little bit, knowing that most of it was the scope and not me in missing. Also, I only saw 4 shooter bucks from October 1st until January 20. That's alot of time in the stand without seeing a shooter buck, and none of those bucks were in bow range.. only 1 was in gun range. Sounds like some really bad luck though, i'm sure things will turn around for you.
