Once speed weeks gets here more guys will be talking. Then after Daytona more talking and even more trash talking will take place. Still early.

Once the green flag drops let the bashing begin!! Those stinkin Toyotas, that cheating Waltrip & Knauss, Gordon has to be cheating cause he's winning, & Jr. made a career mistake by leaving DEI.....ahhh the drama of racing! :D

I don't really cheer on drivers much anymore. I pretty much watch NASCRAP for racing only, not to follow any particular driver.

I'm also sick of the thousands of NAPCAR shows on TV. However, I will make it a point to watch "CASHCAR Now"...heard Nicole Manske will be the host. :D

Can't wait for dirt season! :D:cool:

Trust me when I say people here really care about NASCAR. At least I do. I am just taking a break from last season. Kinda wore me out with all of the media surrounding Jr's big move. We just don't like to gripe year round like the NHL fans. By the way. Isn't that the sport that took a year or so off and nobody noticed? I mean I don't know, Hockey isn't exactly a popular sport in America like Soccer is it? ROFLMBO. Aren't they competing for TV time? Go Jr.!!!

Nascar has really gone down hill since Dale died.Up until a few years ago I watched every race and was in at least 4 or 5 fantasy leagues. Now I do 1 fantasy league and hardly ever watch a race start to finish, with the exception of the 500 and the Bristol races.

Our local dirt tracks open at the end of March...that's a little more my flavor these days.

Seems like since Kurt Busch won the Cup, it's lost a little bit of flavor. Just wait 'til Jr. wins the championship this year and you'll see how much interest gets put into the races again. I think he'll win it very, very soon if not this year. He was doing more with less than any top tier driver out there. If not for all of the blown motors he had, we'd have seen him in the top 5 at least. You can see how much difference it makes to have an owner that actually attends the races and knows what they're doing. The difference in how Dale Sr. ran things and how his wife ran things are totally different. She is trying to run it like a business whereas Sr. ran it like it's his future and reputation. I have no doubt that if Sr. were alive and in charge, Jr. would be in contention year in and year out.

I was noticing not much NASCAR talk. I'm interested to see how Tony Stewart does in a Toyota, and how Dale Jr. does with Hendrick. I was glad to see Jrs. move, I think it'll be good. I hope he runs well. I'm not a Stewart fan, but he is a great driver that I think could win on a tricycle. if anybody can put a toyota up front, he can.

You guys want to have real fun? Volunteer on a local short track race team. Chrud and I can tell you, grass roots racing is where its at. No superstars, no TV cameras, just guys with everyday jobs driving their butts off to win.

Spend all week at the shop working on the car. These are drivers who are usually owners and get their hands dirty because they love the sport!!

Support your local short track, get a pit pass and talk with the teams. We are approachable, try that a local NASCAR race. The guy I crew for you can drink a beer with after the races, think you can do that will Jeff Gordon or Tony Stewart? :D

Lou is exactly right. I don't see what all goes on with the car during the week, but our driver has a pretty intense checklist that he goes over. That is true passion for the sport of racing, working 40+ hours a week and then several hours on your car at night.

Nothing beats an ice cold beer after a win on Friday nights. :D Any with some red clay on your clothes, it's even better.

Yep!I've worked on everything from bombers to late models and traveled from Ohio to Florida to watch dirt races.I'm helping a young kid with a modified now. There's nothing more satisfying than working on the car during the week and having a good run Friday or Saturday night. To me local races are more affordable and more entertaining, and the kids love it.
