Tom2008
Does anyone know how you go about changing the draw length on an 2007 model hoyt works? I'm planning on getting 38 Ultra, but the draw is set at 29" and I need it at 27". Just want to know if there is a way to change it if I get that bow.I'm used to most bows just having different modules to change draw length, but I've never worked on hoyt before so I don't know exactly how it works. Thanks for any replies
Ohiobucks
Not too sure about the Ultra 38 Tom, but with my Trykon, I needed new cams. I went from 28" to 28.5" and it makes all the difference in the world. I bought it from a Hoyt dealer here in Mount Vernon, after I got the 28" version and didn't like it, he switched them out to the 28.5" no questions asked. Tom2008
How much do you think the cams would cost?
Maryland_Bowhunter
You are going to need new cams . I think I had heard on some Hoyts you might need new limbs and cams . Only thing I can tell you call the dealer and ask them
ultratec1
On your 38ultra you should have vector cams. On normal draw specific bows you would need to get new strings and cables along with cams to change the draw length. However with the Vector cams they came in what they called sister groups. Example: If you have a 29" bow and need 27" then you would just need the cams and not the strings and cables. The string would fit a certain range of draw lengths. Now I'm nopt saying that this would work on yours I'm just using it as an exdample. I'm not sure if they come in 1.5" increments or not but this is something that you can look into to save yourself some money. I also know that the vectors cams were alot cheaper than the old cam and halfs. I want to say something like $50.

ultratec1
Well I did some researching and found out that the 29" draw on the vector is a #3 cam and the 27" is a #1. The string length and cables should be good to go for both sets of cams. String length 55.25 Cables should be- 43 and 40.25. All you would need is a #1 vector cam which you can either order from hoyt or you can look on ebay or Archerytalk. Like I said you can get them for around $50. Hope this helps ya.
