VermontHunter
You might want to think about that one again ... :D In last nights NHL All-Star Hardest Shot Compition Zdeno Chara the Z-Man from the Boston Bruins fired his first of two pucks at the net registering on the speed clock at a blistering speed of 101.4 Mph. His second shot bettered that registering on the speed clock at 103.1 Mph .. Al Iafrate’s mind-blowing 105.2 mph slapper that he ripped at the 1993 Skills Competition at The Forum in Montreal still hold the speed record. I don't know what the impact energy of one these shots would produce , but here's what Rick DiPietro, the Islanders netminder said; “I’m crazy, but I don’t think I’m that crazy to sit in net for that one.” So with that said, do you still want to be a NHL Goaltender ?? .. :D
NS whitetail
OUCH that would hurt Luke, did you know that Al MacInnis is a 7 time winner of that event ? Can you guess where he is from ? If you said Nova Scotia ------- you're right -- he was just inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame Read this : MacInnis's slapshot became almost legendary. Early in his career with Calgary, he blasted a shot that shattered the goalie mask of St. Louis Blues' goalie Mike Liut. After the game Liut said that there were "two kinds of hard [shots]" in the League. "There's hard, and then there's MacInnis hard."

If you said Nova Scotia ------- you're right Read this : I've seen alot of goaltenders and D-men go down from shots fired from Al's mighty blast from the blue line .. ;) I've heard Al say " Now only if I could take that speed and be as accurate as the GREAT Ray Bourque .." .. muggs
In Pee Wee's I put on the goalie pads for a few practices...I didn't like it. I took a puck in an area that didn't have a lot of padding and that about sealed my future as a center.

superguide
Superguide jr. had an 85 milke an hour slapshot last year in our local skills competition when he was a 15 year old-he's definately not on the juice lol. Even an old fossil like me can rip it with those new sticks.
