ilhnter
Well, today marked the last day of the whole deer season. My dad and I went in and took all of our lock on stands down. The only disappointing thing about it was that one of out stands was stolen. They took the whole thing, the stand, climbing sticks, bow holder.......the whole thing. That just really gets to me. Why would a hunter want to steal from another hunter. Hunters already have enough people giving them a bad name, now you have hunters giving hunters a bad name. The number of hunters is on the decline as it is and then you have some idiot hunters stealing stands. I just had to let out a little steam. Now that we have all the stands down, its time to look forward to next season.
wtnhunt
Why would a hunter want to steal from another hunter. Another hunter would not, but a poacher would. I consider those low lifes who do this type of crap to be no different than poacher.
WVdeerhunter
They are not hunters. They may call them selfs hunters but not even close just a thief

It may have even been a drug addict who needed to sell something to get drug money and he found your stand. In rural IL, the meth problem is getting terrible and they are cooking in the timber because it's secluded and the smell is not as noticeable. We had a couple of stands stolen 2 years ago, and we think this is what might have happened.
Randyman
While i've never had a stand stolen, it's why i hunt from the ground or use a climber. They can't steal what's not there.
Guest kingkiller
Some folks are just plain nasty! It could even be someone you know quite well,or perhaps someone who's just jealous. Wish I could offer you some comfort, but I'm afraid poor behavior is just a reality. We were hunting leased ground this year in KS,and a guy parked his truck in plain view, and set up a popup blind in the middle of an alfalfa field. When my buddy confronted him later that evening,he just said.."well,I've been hunt'n this land all my life"! He later agreed to stay out only after being contacted by the landowner. Sorry for your trouble...
wildthing
my man...I feel your pain because it happened to me this year...during the season! I usually put up about 10-15 stand locations around our farm, well, one stand is on a property border, that I have the right to hunt on. Well...some jerk, during the bow season, took the stand and pegs...and totally got under my skin.
