Dubie
We got snow on Vancouver Island last night You mean water actualy freezes over there? I don't know about the rest of the country, but around winnipeg its supposed to be about -47 after the windchill. All I know for sure is it went past the point of being just cold, and now its FREAKIN' cold.

Shaun_300
Just saw on the Weather Network that it hit -51c without windchills in Key Lake, SK this morning. New record since the 1940s. That is exactly -60 degrees F!
Canuck2
That is exactly -60 degrees F! Shiverin' sheep dip! I wonder if this cold snap will cause a big die-off of ungulates in the prairies this year.

Dubie
I ain't sure... I think its the sound you make when you walk from inside where its +80 degrees, and hit the wall of cold outside where its -40 degrees...
Ripper
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Uff da (can also be spelled uff-da, uffda, uff-dah, oofda, ufda, oofta or ufta) is an exclamation of Scandinavian origin that is relatively common in the Upper Midwestern states of the United States. It roughly means "drats," "oops!" or "ouch!", especially if the "ouch!" is an empathetic one. In Norwegian Midwestern USA cultures, "Uff Da" translates into: "I am overwhelmed." sureshot
ya just about cold enough to put on a jacket and gloves, not quit but pretty close !really we had a few cold spells this winter, one weekend I was out coyote huntign in -55 with the windchill like a idiot, first day was ok, I could work the draws not looking into the wind and did ok, second day I was hunting mor eopen land and had to look downwind, froze my eyes, they were so sore for aweek and watering, the way i look at is if I was not out that weekend I would not of broke the 200 coyote mark lol, was worth it! Once you gety used to the cold and dress properly its ok, abotu 5 layers and keep your feet and head warm you are ok, now when its jsut above freezing its liek summer lol!
