We have alot of Encore owners in here, you should get a lot of great opinions and ideas ! too_pointer
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Re: T/C Encore load\'s i use 300 gr shockwaves with 100 gr T7 in my encore...seems to do the job...i am goin to experiment with the 295 gr powerbelts also have heard they shoot pretty good out of the encore...but the shockwaves are awesome...they are tough to load but make it up in accuracy
tedicast
Re: T/C Encore load\'s In my Encore. The best load so far has been 100grains 777 ( 2, 50grn pellets) and 295 grain holloepoint powerbelts. Plan on playing with a few more bullets this year, Will probably stick with what I'm usung though.
paul23
Re: T/C Encore load\'s My encore prefers the Winchester platinum tips in 260 grains with 2 777 pellets behind it. My pops wasnt' impressed with the shockwaves anymore after he shot 3 deer the last couple years and none of them went down very quickly. We recovered 2 of the deer and it appears that the bullets fragments into pieces upon impact. All involved some tracking and he saw the results of some of the deer I shot this year during gun season and is making the switch over. I'm looking at the 1 bullet I recovered from a doe facing me at 150+ yards and it is completely all there in one piece and expanded to twice its diameter with the petals sticking out and wrapping back a bit. It's definetly what I'm looking for a bullet to do on game.
Guest toytruck
Re: T/C Encore load\'s This is my first post on this site as well, but I have been here for a couple of years now. I have a Encore in .45 and .50 caliber. In the .50 I would recommend trying Harvester "sabertooth" bullets. I killed two deer this past season with the 300grain variety using two T7 pellets (100gr.) They both blew through the chest/ribs and exited leaving large quarter/half dollar size holes on both sides. Both were shot at 75-80yds. Midsouth Supply carries these bullets. They are bonded like powerbelts, but cheaper $8.78/15. They have a short sabot that actually sits on the base of the bullet and not a post like powerbelts. They load just as easy as powerbelts and out perform them in my opinion. I have four deer kills with the .45 barrel using 225gr. powerbelts and two pyrodex pellets (100 gr.) Only one of these deer had a pass through, as the powerbelts blewup inside them and didn't exit. I prefer a blood trail. Just my two cents worth. Alot of good info on this site keep it up! EIGHTPOINT
Re: T/C Encore load\'s Welcome to the forum : My Encore ( after some extensive testing ) shoots 250 gr Barnes Expanders w/ 120 gr of loose 777. Every gun is different so you will have to find what your gun shoots best. These guns are super accurate with the right bullet & load so don't settle for a 2" group at 100 yards, keep tweaking your load and you can get 1" or better. Good luck. too_pointer
Re: T/C Encore load\'s Welcome to indy and toytruck as well, good to hear from some new people, even if you have been watching for awhile
Guest Leadbuck
Re: T/C Encore load\'s I also shoot the 50 cal and tryed shockwaves 250 gr.and found they where hard to load. So now I am using Horndy 245 xtp with 2 pyodex pellets. Horandy loads alot easyer and they very accurate.
AaronS
Re: T/C Encore load\'s Welcome to the board. Run a search in this forum for Precision bullets also. Several of the members shoot them and are very happy with their accuracy, loading ease, and game-stopping ability. I shot Shockwaves this year but plan on trying the Precisions next season. tped
Re: T/C Encore load\'s I shoot with Eightpoint and have another friend with the Encore also . We all shoot 120 grains of triple 7 loose with the 250 grain Barnes. Great accuracy, 1" or less all the time
