Guest spurcollector
Allright, the '08 season is upon us... What's your favorite NASCAR track or Race???
AdvantageTimberLou
Bristol Night Race. Bump and banging under the lights. Not a bad seat in the entire place!! As they say, its like jet fighters flying around a gymnasium!
VermontHunter
Hands down Bristol or Martinsville .. :)
Guest spurcollector
Someone mad a comment that there wasn't enough NASCAR topics, so I made a few... I like Darlington, because it's where I'm from. It's one of the original racetracks. "The Lady In Black", "Too Tough To Tame". Home of the Southern 500... and home of the closest finish ever... Email NASCAR buddy as tracks like that, ones with history seem to be going to the wayside. More new ones being built, more want a 2nd date too. They seem to have forgotten their roots. Rockingham......North Wilksboro......great tracks, great finishes!!

SuperMn106
Bristol Night race!! or any Bristol race for that matter. That bumping and grinding is fun to watch.

Chrud
Richmond, without a doubt. Short-track action like Bristol, but 2 and sometimes even 3 grooves makes for great side-by-side racing. Rockingham was my favorite. Lots of grooves and really fast short track action.

You said it Lou!Another reason NASCAR is losing it's appeal to me. Without a doubt Bristol is my favorite race. One day I'd like to see the race in person. Randyman
Count me among those that miss Rockingham and North Wilkesboro. I guess i have to go with Bristol and Richmond these days. Also, i'm one the rare ones that really like the Road Course races. The short tracks and road course races are about the only ones i'll bother to watch on T.V. anymore. VABuckSlayer
Since I live in Richmond and work those races I guess I'm partial to that one. I also like Bristol. Darlington would rank #3. I'm curious how the racing will be at Darlington this year with them repaving the track?
IowaDeerHunter
I agree with Matt, I like the Richmond races. But Bristol is right up there too.
c_lou
Bristol and then Darlington.

Darlington would rank #3. I'm curious how the racing will be at Darlington this year with them repaving the track? I rent construction equipment. I'm renting stuff at the track. The guy says they'll put every bump and wrinkle back exactly like it was. He says it'll be faster, he says if they didnt have the car of tomorrow they'd break the track record. They have one end of the track tore out and they're putting in a new tunnell. I'll be there monday. I could take some pics.
VABuckSlayer
I work for a fence contractor and have been doing all the fence work at RIR for the past 20 years. Some moron got a little crazy and wrecked his car in the fence along the front of the racetrack property. I'll have a crew out there in the next few days to fix it. We had to fix the fence around the track a few years ago when Helio Castronevis decided his car was a jet and crashed into the fence in practice. Dang it he tore that thing up! Was very lucky he wasn't hurt after that.

muggs
I'd say the oval shaped one where the go in a circle with all left-handed turns is my favorite.
Bowtech_archer07
I gotta love Daytona during the Pepsi 500 or Talladega. for a close 1 and 2.. Bristol at #3 because i'm not a big short track fan, but Bristol is a cool track to watch.

Me too muggs, almost as exciting as that football field that they run back and forth on.....but wait, they do switch sides from time to time and change direction! BowJoe
My favorite would have to be 'Dega. I love seeing those cars come off of turn 2 and on to that backstretch and man it's juevos to the juall when they put the hammer down. I am not a big fan of bristol because it's nothing but cautions and commercials for 4 hrs. but I'd love to see it in person. I had a buddy send me video of the race to my phone last year. Beautiful. It's not like it used to be with the veterans gone. Now, it's a matter of who wants to wreck who the fastest to get a bigger check from a sponsor so they can wreck more drivers that actually respect each other and contend for a championship every year. Football is one of those sports where you get to take breaks, sometimes half the game or more! Not like that racing sport where you compete non-stop. Or the 24 hour endurance races. I'd like to see all those football "athletes" be on their A-game for 24 hours will little to no time to take a break.
Ambuscher
1. Bristol 2. Bristol 3. Bristol One of my goals in life before I die. LMBO

ruttinbuc
Any track that does not put me to sleep in the first 100 laps.... These things can be as exciting as watching paint dry at times. TV does not do any racing justice.
