Pinwheel5
Ok, I know it is not 04 yet but it is close. I will start it off. Went down to the indoor range tonight and seen a bunch of people that I had not seen in a few months. Had a good time. 300 5 spot round. 293-35 x's. I really did shoot good. Only had one "terrible" release all night. Score was due to changing rests half way through and moving my sight all night. Indoor light sure threw me off. I did get to witness my buddy shoot a 300-60x. He was on fire. Funny thing was when he got there he had to assemble his sight, get sighted in on 3 practice rounds, and he was using his beat up hunting arrows, cut up fletching and all, and with field tips I lowned him. He hit 56 inside out x,s and only had two close ones.
Tony
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. well i shot a 300 5 spot round monday night . i shot 299 48 X . not bad for only my 2nd 300 round shot this year. made 3 bad shots and got away with 2 but not the 3rd. just simply holding to long . at 1 point i had 24 out of 25 Xs in a row. then i started thinking about what i was doing and i came back to reality. seems funny when your crusing and everything is working great and then you start trying to hard and mess it up. was going to shoot tuesday night but we had a snow storm here and the shop closed early. im in tonight for another 300 round. 12-08-03 299-48X 12-12-03 299-48X 12-15-03 300-46X 12-19-03 300-52X 12-20-03 300-50X 12-22-03 299-48X 12-23-03 431-19X 12-26-03 300-50X 12-28-03 295-45X tourny 12-29-03 300-51X 12-30-03 300-45X 01-02-04 295-16X Vegas round 01-04-04 345 score . for a 360 tourny 2nd place 01-04-04 305 score for a 330 Vegas tourny 3rd place 01-05-04 300-49X 01-07-04 295-15X Vegas and 298-18X Vegas 01-10-04 651 Iowa Pro-Am 6th place 01-14-04 300-50X 01-16-04 300-52X 01-19-04 300-55X 01-21-04 300-50X 01-30-04 300-48X 01-31-04 300-50X 02-02-04 300-49X 02-04-04 300-54X 02-06-04 300-54X 02-07-04 300-51X 02-09-04 300-55X 02-10-04 299-47X 02-17-04 444-28X 450 round league 02-18-04 300-50X 02-20-04 300-51X 02-21-04 300-53X 02-24-04 299-50X 02-25-04 300-58X 02-27-04 300-54X Shoot Strong Tony
Grant-KS
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. When I get to the range with my arrows all set up, and the bow tuned, I'm gonna tear 'em up!!!!! I was shooting a couple weeks ago indoors at one of my friends dad's cabinet shop in their range, and stripped quite a few fletchings. TIGHT groups!!!!! With my hunting arrows with sharp helical off a launcher blade with lots of contact. I'm gonna win vegas in a couple of years. LOL Ok, so maybe there was a li'l smack involved in the vegas comment, but I'm trying to think positive. Like........of course I know my first game's gonna be a 300 60X!!!! And I'm gonna do my best to make it happen.
Okbwhtr
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Got the new Icon set up tonight. 299 51X Feels good to pull just 48Lbs. Love it!
Tony
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. not bad shooting Dan . seems like me just 1 critical point to get . your only shooting 48 lbs ? are you able to develope enough backtension with that low a poundage ? im shooting 60 lbs just like i did for 3-D . i havent changed it because when i first got the bow last year i turned it down to low and messed up my form because i couldnt get enough backtension . so i have just left it alone . i was in the shop last night and shot really well but ended up with the same score 299 48X . its coming slowly but i need to step up my practice because the Iowa Pro-Am is the second weekend in Jan. Canuck2
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. OK, deer season is over here, so I started altering my setup the other night. During the deason I don't like to touch my sights, etc. if not necessary. Shot my first 5 spot round of the winter and got 292-30x. I think that's about 10 points ahead of my first one last year (can't remember the score for sure). Time will tell if it was just a fluke or whether I can creep upwards. Okbwhtr
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Shot 299 51X's Dropped one arrow in next to last shot. Needless to say I was not a happy camper. Got small diamenter scope and small peep. Going to see if that tightens my groups. Im holding steadier for sure with my lower weight bow. Going to try and spend day with coach this week. Okbwhtr
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Well said Hornet. My coach taught me to always score yourself and always finish round regardless of score. Do exactly like you would in tournament. Good shooting Hornet. Straight Shooter
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. I'm waiting on the 3-D season to start up. I might make it to the indoor range and do some 5 spot shooting. I need to, it truely helps with my form and release.
dg
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. My ten-year-old said he wanted to shoot some 3D's in Jan. YAHOOOOOO! I got him a little Browning Micro-Eclipse one cam and he shoots it pretty good for starting out. Problem is: he wants to go to 30 and 40 yards after a couple good 15-20 yard shots! lol Oh well, I'm looking forward to 2004.
Straight Shooter
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. dg, We'll have to hook up a few times this year and do some more shooting together. Drop me a line sometime.
Okbwhtr
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Hornet Master Dee is saying Jerry Carter has something new again this year. Im assuming by reading its going to be a release easier to set release pull instead of changing springs. Looking forward to seeing it at trade show. Shooting a Carter one-shot with my hunting sight....trying to find a scope I like for my CBE. Hopefully I can get that X count up

Pinwheel5
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Shot league last night. Shots were going off great, just got some control problems, need to take some muscles out of the equation. Shot with pins. 297-44x. Shot a round today while working, lol. I bought a Toxonics rollups and a Boss 2x scope with .019 fiber. Shot one half round good, 150 with 25 x and then blew up second half, 148, 17x. 298-42x Considering I am shooting ACC-3-49 at 292 I think that I am scoring well for this early. I really like the new set of Toxonics and Boss scope. I am thinkng of getting some 2315's and actually get into this indoor.
Okbwhtr
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Lookout guys, new spottie in town. Huntinsonofgun shot a 297 29X with his hunting bow. Good shooting Ryan, now Ryan hasnt shot much indoor at all. I shot with him tonight so pressure was there for both to do good. I shot 300 48X. huntinsonovagun
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. I learned that FOCUS is the key word. You should focus on the last one as much as you did on the first one, but that is easier said than done I am sure not complaing about my score though. 297 29x ain't too bad I don't guess. Definatly leaves plenty of room for improvement though. I am wore out now. good shooting guys.

Tony
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. good shooting guys . i have a couple of new scores to post. i shot 300-46 X last monday and then the flu hit me for 2 days then last night i shot my best round of the year 300-52 X. i made a small adjustment to my form. i was drawing my bow across my body and putting to much tension in my draw arm and bicep . by slightly leaning forward and drawing with my elbow in a clock wise motion i can put almost all the draw weight in my back muscles and lessen the tension on my release hand. strange thing happened when i did this i got off on the release a lot better and i shot my best round of the year so far. Grant-KS
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Good shooting guys! I used to do that too Tony.........quite irritating condition actually. You draw, and you can feel your bicep bulging, and you're like.......ok, RELAX! It just won't happen so you've got to let down and start over again. I've been doing a li'l bit of form shooting the last few days, and everything's looking good for a 300-60X LOL All of my shots just pulled through, the release clicked, the arrow stuck in the target, took my eyes off the spot, wait about 20 seconds, repeat. I was amazed at how natural my follow through seemed. Now I want my bushings for my 2115s!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then I hope you guys have something to worry about. I'm gonna go into the first real 5 spot round of my life confident that it's gonna be a 300 60X, and shoot one arrow at a time. With my bow set up the way it is, I think there's a very good chance, and with the way I've been pulling off those shots. but you can still wish me luck! LOL
Tony
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. i just got back form the shop and i shot well. i did a little practice with the hunting bow to check things out for next week when bow season opens back up. as for my target round i shot well i shot 300-50 X . things are coming around really well. Grant-KS
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Nice! I shot today as well with a 2 fletched helical hunting arrow (not made that way, just shot a vane off earlier) And did my best just shooting one arrow at a time. It always went right into the X but sticking out of the target at a weird angle becuase of the poor flight, but it was in there when I made a good shot. If I goofed a tiny bit, it was WAY off though! LOL I did a bit of shooting with it at 40 yards, and you can say forget it. On the good side of things.....Again, back tension was perfect, and form was great. Still need to concentrate on aiming and focusing on the X though.
hangunnr
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Shot a indoor holiday fun shoot last friday night. Won one of the games, placed in a couple others. Went home with a pretty good smoked ham for my efforts. Shot a 297-17 baby X Vegas practice round yesterday. Shot my old 2 cam with the 2613's. Man do they fly slow compared to my 3D rig. I really don't like the yellow center on those targets. The red pin I use isn't very well suited for this. I'm gonna try a black dot for this target face. Anybody have a recommended size to try? I was thinking something in the 1/8th inch size range. It'll be on a 2X lense. It's still a few weeks till our indoor league kicks off. I'm gonna try to shoot a spots league and a 3D league. Should be fun. hangunnr
Canuck2
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. 296 38X this week. This is just a whisker away from the best I managed to do all last winter. I can see a marked improvement in my shooting in general and I'm eager to hit the 300. But not until after Christmas I guess.
