Canuck2
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Getting closer, and WOW, equipment DOES make a difference. Shot 298 42x today. But what really has me all adither is that I was shooting a new set of arrows. I just got a dozen Easton Redlines, which have a considerably smaller diameter than the aluminums I had been using. So I may have missed out on a line cutter or two. However, I matched this new batch as carefully as I could and shot 3 that all weighed within a tenth of a grain of each other. For me, the results were astounding. So yesterday I tried them out for the first time. Just took 10 shots at a 3 spot, same size rings as the 5 spots. Got all 5's with 8 x's and could hardly wait to get out today. And, as I said, hit 298 42x. The 2 missed points were me all the way. These arrows fly so nice and true. I keep thinking I've been bonking my head against a brick wall for no good reason, trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. So we'll see if these help in the long run. Hey, if it's good for the mind, do it - right?

Canuck2
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Couldn't help myself - hooked up with a buddy and headed to the range to try another 5 spot. Things were sailing along smoothly until shot #37. *#~!&@!! Crept just outside a 5 into the 4. Ended up with a 299 36x. It's close - I can feeeel it. *L*

This is good feeling with indoor state coming up in two weeks.
Tony
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. im already seeing results from my coaching class. i shot my highest 450 round ever and smashed my total baby X count. i shot a 444 out of 450 vegas rouind with 28 baby Xs. my previous best score was 444 with 19X . the 6 shots that i missed were due to loss of concentration not from bad shot execution . Pinwheel5
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Shot my Ovation for score for the first time. I scored 300-41x but really shot better than my score implies. I wore out 5 holes on the 6 o'clock x. If I would have moved 2 or 3 clicks I shot a good enough groups to score in the low to mid 50's. Not a single arrow was left or right and only had 2 that were touching blue. But, not one was over half way up the x and most were on the line. ACC's at 280fps don't help either. Really happy with the way the Ovation fits me and holds. Making back tension feel right.

huntinsonovagun
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Shot first tourny. Man, I just can't pull it back together. shot 296 35someodd x's. I think it is my releasing. Shooting thumb trigger and I trained my subconscience to jerk as soon as my pin hits that x. I have to retrain my subconscience mind....been listening to Mental Management cd's by Lanny something. Really good, and listening to it made me realize what I am doing. Probably will not join leagues next month, just need to work on my shooting. AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! I was so close to the 300, now it seems so far away!!!!! I guess it's like Dan said.....I'm still young and this is my first competitive season. Shoot staight

VtBowhunter
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. My first shoot of the year wasn't too bad but wasn't spectacular either. I shot a 257 out of a possible 280. That's what I get for taking 4 months off.
hangunnr
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Shot a 3D course at the bowhunter club I belong to. They score the 10 ring as an X, the 8 ring as a 10 and anything else as a 0. This club credits kill shots only. The first time through the course I shot a 290-29X. I fell out on one shot. This still was a PB for X count for me. Second time through I shot 300-24X. Weather was perfect. We had a very good turnout surpassing 50 shooters. I think there were alot of people shaking the dust off after a long winter. hangunnr
Okbwhtr
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Personnaly best for me in leagues 300 56X State shoot this weekend. Hope things stay together.
Tony
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. i shot 299-50 X in league last night and while i dont let score bother me it did make me determined to concentrate better. so tonight i went in and shot a huge round. 300 -58X . just had one of those nights when everything just goes off perfect. i was concentrating on making just 1 perfect form shot. i ended up shooting 76 out of 80 Xs . i had the first 40 straight in scoring . the shot a 3X end ? can you say pressure . hehe Shoot strong Tony
Canuck2
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Wow Tony, that IS huge! A hearty congrats to you on a fine round like that. And finally I have hit the magic 300! Did 'er tonight, a 300 37x. WOOHOO!! Started off a bit sloppy and had 2 shots in the first 6 that were half way out of the 5. But then knuckled down and became increasingly focused the more I shot. Also had 22 of the x's in the second half. Made my day.
Tony
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Congrats on the 300 . its a big deal to shoot that consistantly. once you start to concentrate on that x the 300s come a little easier . i shot a 300--54X friday night . just a loss of concentration on a few shots. i have a tourny on sunday im shooting in, its a tune up for our State indoor next weekend. VtBowhunter
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Second shoot of the year and I'm up again.....shot a 260 out of 280 in the extreme course. This will only get better as I'm just getting warmed up.
hangunnr
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Shot two different courses today.........I'm exhausted.. Had troubles on the first course with yardages from 35-45yds. I was seeing these targets as 3-4yds short all day. I had so many jarlicker 6 o'clock 10's it wasn't even funny. Way too many 8's in this area. Ended up with a 385/400. Second course was at the hunt club I belong to. Shot Ok with a 300-22X out of 300-30X. Ranges here didn't get much past 35yds. My daughter shot a personal best today with a 240-10X. She is getting that trigger under control and her score is reflecting it. I need to get her back into shape, she was dragging towards the end. hangunnr
Okbwhtr
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. State Indoor Tournament 298 50X 300 53X Had a little tournament pressure target panic. We left before last line was shooting of two day tournament. He turns 18 in 13 days so Mens div here on out Ryan.
huntinsonovagun
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Yeah....no more easy wins, like the one at leagues Have shot better and have shot worse....but I really can't complain for shooting 2 rounds back-to-back. 297 43x 297 30x. I was getting lazy and then Dean Pridgin (sp??) told me what I was doing....didn't drop any more arrows in the first round after that. Second round just plain got tired. Shot good first half and then I was shaking all over like there was a 250" nontypical under me. I guess I did okay for first big shoot, but there is definatly room for improvement. I am glad I found out what was wrong because I had been having trouble for a couple weeks not knowing what I was doing....just wasn't following through. 300, here I come!!!!.....after I get some rest. Man am I beat!!
