ASA Pro-am Kinder La.

Well this isnt like any local shoot. ASA 3d you better bring your best game and then some.

I shot 195 on first day sitting 30th place. Had one five when I didnt set sight right. 38 when I meant 28yrds. Cost me a nickel

Shot 188 on second day. Dropped 7 points on last two targets. Ouch. Talk about dropping in standings. Ended up 51 out of 134 shooters in my class.

Had great time. Kinder is one fine ASA Pro.am.

Congradulations to huntingsonofgun. Okla. State Shooters Assc. Champion in Young adult indoors. Got the scores when I got back. Way to go Ryan.

Shot a new 3D course last weekend. Wind was gusting up to 30mph. I shot 389/400. Had 14-11s. Only had two really poor shots on the day, both pigs. mad.gif Shot one warthog for 42 when it was actually 37 this earned me a 5. Second bad shot was on a javelina. I looked hard at this target and first impression told me 30yds. I then looked again and said no that aint right. Adjusted the sight down to 27 and let the shot go.............pig was actually 35yds!!! This mis-judgment cost me an arrow as it fell right into the metal base holding the target. mad.gif I can't remember the last time I whiffed on a target.

Shot spot league tonight. Shot a 300-47X. This was the first time I used the 2613s. They fly pretty well considering they are spined way stiff for my rig.

Re: Post your 2004 scores here.

Attended my first 3D shoot of the year yesterday; nice sunny day, about 60 degrees, and pretty gusty winds.

Out of 42 in my class, I placed 6th with 346/400. (10-8-5 scoring) I was actually in 2nd after the first round with a 182, but my nemesis in the second round was several little raccoon and gopher targets, that these old eyes had a had time seeing the rings on.

All in all, it was a mighty fine day.

Also, please see my post about the young lad who went with me. smile.gif

Well i shot a tourny on sunday and i shot freestyle , thats long stabilizer and a scope . i shot well for my first time ever scoring with freestyle gear. i shot 300--52X .

check out these crazy rounds 19X--100 then 14X --100 and finally 19X--100 . i ended up in second place which made me feel good. grin.gif

i believe i will shoot freestyle next year to break me out of this funk im in . i shot very calmly i just had a few arrows so close the second round.

it actually seemed very easy to me but i did get a little excited when i shot 19X the first game . grin.gif

The Hackmaster was back at 'er again this morning. Shot a 3-D close the house here. 30 degrees and 20 - 30 mph winds don't stop this idiot from flinging carbon. tongue.gif After 5-ing 3 targets on the first half, I yanked up my muddy bootstraps and hit 11 10's on the back 15. Ended up with a lukewarm 262 overall. I'll take it, I guess. Forgot to take gloves. I couldn't feel the trigger on about the last 8 targets!!

Indoor Nationals was a blast. Louisville and folks from Kentucky, Well done.

Didnt shoot well and had little mechanical promblems with release both days. But it happens. Enjoyed seeing all those top gun pros and Ryan here and his wife, Handgunner and I got to visit some. You guys that live any where near that should always attend if for no other reason to attend the vendors booths. I beleive it will be there next year also.

Re: Post your 2004 scores here.

i shot my first 3-D rounds monday afternoon . i shot well and i was using my Razortec and Goldtip 3-d Pros , speed was right at 270fps.

i went to Raccoon ridge and i shot a 274 out of 280 on course A .

on course B i shot a 280 out of a possible 294 .

i went for a double point shot on a raccoon that was standing sideways . i figured the distance at 45 yds and got a body shot which is 6 points times 2 =12 points . and i made a 12 point shot on a special cub thats had a 14 ring on it.

i had a blast and it was fun to get out and climb some hills and shoot some 3-D . i dont know why i never got into this a long time a go.

my first 3-D tourny is this weekend at Creston . its put on by the Southwest Iowa Bowhunters and its always a tough course .

Re: Post your 2004 scores here.

Went to a new course today. This place has a large parcel of land with several ponds, ravines and alot of woods. The neatest shot of the day was a 40yd down hill across the end of one of the ponds. The distance was very deceiving. This was one of only 4 targets I had the yardage wrong on. I shot it for a high 8. I ended the day with 2 nickles, 2 eights, 12 twelves and the rest tens. This came out to ten up for the day. I'm pretty happy shooting a 310 on this course. I'm a little unhappy with the missed yardage on some of the targets but it was a good lesson in paying close attention to the targets surroundings.

Re: Post your 2004 scores here.

shot the SW Iowa Bowhunters 3-D course sunday . i shot 333 out of 400. had a bunch of 8s and five 5s and a zero. shocked.gif

this was really tough for the first tourny but it helped me realise that i need work on my range estimation. smirk.gif

adverage distance was around 32 yds or better. highlight was a 10 ring shot on a 31 yd turkey .

first target was a 35 yd standing bear .

i found out that i cant shoot my bow with a long sleeve shirt. the wrist strap caught my cuff and made me shoot 6 inches left. blush.gif

not a great way to start out but i had a blast and i know now what i need to do.

Shooting is good. Shot high score this weekend in jackpot money shoot. Indoor this fall certainly helped my shooting. Hopefully this will continue and I can make Tenn and Illinois ASA Pro/am's

Shooting LX for 3d, just working to well for now.

Re: Post your 2004 scores here.

Shot a paultry 380/400 today. Wind was cranking AGAIN mad.gifmad.gifmad.gif!

I've been shooting a pure BT release and I guess if the wind is gonna keep blowing I'll have to find something I can control a little better. Watching my pin blow completely off the target while executing a shot in very frustrating.

Re: Post your 2004 scores here.

Shot my 3rd 3D tourney of the year this weekend and finally finished just about where I'd been aiming. Strangely, there was a 3-way tie for first.

After yesterday, I was sitting 4th. But I had the best round today and caught the 2 immediately ahead of me; yesterday's leader fell back of us.

Score was 674/750 (45 targets yesterday, 30 today) and it was a great course. Lots of variety in animals, distances, and habitat. I had never travelled to this meet before and the neatest thing was that it was on some bench land at the base of some very rugged mountains. There were numerous mountain goats living on the cliffs and I spent more time watching them through my binocs than I did looking at the targets. cool.gif
