Re: Post your 2004 scores here.

Shot a 298/300 saturday. The first two targets were at 48 and 46 yds. What an eye opener for the first targets of the day.

---------------------------------

Shot terrible today. The friggin wind was cranking again. I'm at a loss as how to handle the incessant windy conditions.

Shot my 2nd 3D on Sunday, my birthday too. Shot a 248 out of 300. Slipped up on the last 15 a little but they had some pretty tough yardages. Second to last target was 50 yds. I was pretty happy. I shoot in the hunter class. I shot with an old friend and he had this 16 year old kid with him. Man what a joy. Very nice kid who lives for hunting and shooting the bow. It was a pleasure to see the respect and maturity this boy had. Too many times you see the "I am better than everyone" attitude from these youngsters.

By the way, I found out that last weeks shoot I won first place in my division. Yippeeee, my first 3-D trophy.

Re: Post your 2004 scores here.

i shot well today at the SW iowa Bowhunters course in Afton Iowa.

i shot 365 out of 400 . just one 5 and no misses today. this course is really tough. lots of targets at 34 to almost 50 yds . smirk.gif

i enjoy shooting a tough course but its a little tense to try to hit a 46+ yd elk with half the 10 ring covered by a tree ! just missed the 10 by an inch.

i made lots of good shots just 2 a little right. everything else was up and down.

had fun and im really getting the range thing down. everything under 35 yds is smoked !

Third 3D tournament of the year, just a 1 day-er. The course was a tough one with lots of up&down, bush, and rocks. There were 40 targets and I was burning up the course for the first 34. Then I shot like a chump the last 6 targets - 3 8's and 3 5's. frown.gif Finished 5th overall but should have been 2nd - my feeble opinion. But fun as always. grin.gif

Been flinging some arrows at local 3D. Actually shooting pretty good. Indoor all fall diffantly helps one with form.

Doing lots of shooting, plan to keep it up for Tenn at end of month. ASA Tenn Pro/am Go shoot with the best and have fun.

Re: Post your 2004 scores here.

i shot raccoon ridge with a buddy on sunday and i tied for 2nd in unlimited ! grin.gif

not bad for only my 3rd shoot of the year . i shot a 536 out of 560 . a 42 yd caribou just bit me on a 6 and i had a prob with another caribou at about 44 yds for a 6.

best shot of the day was a 39 yd side profile raccoon for double points i just missed the 10 ring for an 8 which was then 16 points.

had a great time and plan on shooting a lot more building up to the IBO tourny on the 22nd in Omaha Neb. it will be the first leg of the heartland triple crown .

i just love this game ! grin.gif

Re: Post your 2004 scores here.

Shot a 30 target course with Strut 10 while out in Penn. sunday morning. Course was pretty good with a couple very deceiving shots. All targets were Reinharts with IBO scoring rings. They only scored 10,8,5,0 but we kept track of the 12's on the score sheet anyway. I shot a 285 without the 12s, which would of been a 307 with the 12s. With this score I ended up in 3rd.

When we got to target 8, Strut stepped up and shot the target then I stepped to the stake and while judging the distance I happened to glance to my right and couldn't believe what I saw. There was a doe standing about 40-45yds away just munching away on the greens. She wasn't at all concerned with our presence. (maybe she'd been watching us shoot crazy.gif) We went to pull the arrows which took us to within about 30yds of her. She took a couple steps back but still wasn't very worried. We wondered if maybe she had a fawn nearby that she didn't want to leave. I absolutely love seeing critters in the woods.

Re: Post your 2004 scores here.

well i shot my first IBO tourny yesterday in Omaha Neb.i had a great time and me and my buddy shot with a husband and wife from Neb. thanks Chris and Brad we had a lot of fun.

the weather was warm but perfect for shooting . which means no rain like normal ! grin.gif

i shot in the hunter class which has a 35 yd max on targets . i thought it would be a good class to start out in.

the targets were tough even with a 35 yd max. i know the course i shot had a 30 yd adverage. i sure didint see many under 25 yds. maybe 2 targets out of 40 ! i shot 375 out of 400 with eleven 11s .

my first target was a 32 yd wolf and i missed the yardage so bad i shot a 5 . my buddy who doesnt shoot any tournys shot an 11. smirk.gif

my other bad shot was a 35 yd baboon that i just missed the range on. i thought he was more like 29. got a nice 5 for that one. grin.gif

i was just low on most of my yardage by about 2 yds most of the day. i dont know how many 10s i missed by a half inch , at least 8 .

the course was really open , most of it was like shooting in the back yard , mowed shooting lanes and really open and real flat like the ASA in Metropolis last year .

anyways i shot the best i could yesterday we will see where i end up , but i would be happy with a top 15 with that score . from a lot of people i talked to nobody shot really that well .

the 2nd leg of the Heartland triple Crown IBO is in St Joseph , Missouri in 2 weeks . i talked to a few guys and they said it is completely differant than the shoot in Omaha more of a traditional 3-D shoot (woods ).

i have to get out and do a lot of range estimation practice and just a bunch of shooting. i only had 2 left misses all day everything else was up and down.

Re: Post your 2004 scores here.

well guess what i finished in 5th place for the IBO i shot on saturday . grin.gif

even though it wasnt my best effort it was as good as i could shoot on that day . i am happy that i was tied for the most 11s shot for my class .

if you want to check out my score heres the link

http://archeryclub.com .

then go to scores and 2004 IBO 1st leg heartland triple crown . scan down to IBO-HC and im the 5th one down from the top with a 375 and eleven 11s

im a little behind in points but im really going to hit the range estimation hard here for the next 2 weeks.

any of you IBO gurus know what i have to do to qualify for the IBO Worlds competition ?

Re: Post your 2004 scores here.

Just got back from a 2-day shoot a couple hundred miles from home. Weather chased us around all weekend - showers, sun, hail, wind, more sun, downpour, etc.

But the weather was the same for everyone. In the end, I managed to finish 3rd. I seem to be making a bad habit of tanking 2 shots per tourney, this time dropping me a place. mad.gif It's frustrating to be in a good position and mess it all up with just a short lapse in concentration.

However, the event was a blast - always is. Can't hardly wait til the next one.

Shot a 393/400 yesterday with 13-11s. Course was pretty good but lighting was terrible. There were several shots under a heavy canopy of trees that were very hard to judge. We finished up in a hurry just beating the rain.

Bowhunter's Unlimited Outdoor 3D League - Hunter's Class - Week 1

I shot a 181, my big brother had a 171.

I had three 12's and several 10's and 8's. I had a 5 on the last target. It was pouring rain suddenly, so I just kind of took a quick shot. I'm happy with that. I made dumb mistakes, I should have been closer to 190. I'm thinking I can get 200 at least once this year.

Good job at Raccoon Ridge Tony!!

--------------------------

I shot a 40 target course today, IBO scoring. I shot hunter class and ended up with a 377/400. mad.gif It's been awhile since I'd shot pins and it really showed the further along we went.

The first 20 targets went very well I was only 4 down. I lost my mind on the second half, struggling to find the 10 ring. The course wasn't any harder I just really lost focus.

Re: Post your 2004 scores here.

thanks HG.

i guess you shouldnt be fooling around with pins . grin.gif

you know you a big dog scope shooter. grin.gif

well i shot the Second leg of the Heartland Triple Crown in St Joseph Missouri on sunday . i shot good and i thought the course was tough. i shot a 386 out of 400 with eleven 11s . grin.gif

i was shooting pretty well just seemed to miss at least 6 10rings by just a 1/2 inch and about the same number of 11s also.

i ran into trouble on the 37th target out of 40 . it was a tough uphill shot that i first thought was 30 yds. i then talked myself into 24 yds . so i shot and i got a 5 . tongue.gif

it was 30 yds ! smirk.gif

dont know where that puts me over all but i hoping for a top 10 . my goal is to finish in the top 10 in the triple crown.

they had some really wicked downhill shots that i had never shot before . heck it looked like shooting out of a treestand 30 feet up!

had the range on almost every target except one .

heres my score breakdown

11s---11

10s---18

8s----10

5s----1

like i said i had the range to almost all of them , i found out what a level is for in 3d for sure. that side hill stuff messed me up a few times.

im going to Montezuma next sunday weather permitting to shoot with Realtree member "mdcool"at there clubs course.

see you there Mike .

Bowhunter's Unlimited Outdoor 3D League - Hunter's Class - Week 2

Week 2 of my 3D League wasn't good at all. I will give my brother credit, he got a 200. It was hot and humid, so that had me mad. I got home from work and decided to shoot a little. I did alright at home, but not like usual. The mosquitoes were terrible, I mean swarms around everyone and everything. I completely blew it on a couple shots, getting 5's, and forgot to judge the distance on the elk. I got a 5 on that too, but I was just getting more and more mad. Hot, humid, sweating, mosquitoes, it just didn't make for a good night. I ended up with a 171, 10 points off of last week.

Re: Post your 2004 scores here.

I think things will be better now. I'm going to 2nd shift, so I can only shoot Friday evenings or Saturday mornings. I can shoot by myself, but I'll try to get a buddy to go with me. My brother is always in a rush, so maybe if I can take my time, things will be better. At least I know what I did wrong, so I know what to do better next time.
