Tony
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. well i shot at the Hickory Ridge Bowhunters today. they were putting on the 3rd leg of the Heartland Triple Crown at Lake Red Rock near Pella Iowa. i first would like to say that i did not shoot as good as i could have. i shot great for 3 out of 4 rounds but the 2nd course i just could not buy a 10 for nothing. i shot eight 8s out of 10 targets with one 11 and 1 ten . you cant believe how many 10s i missed by just 1/2 inch . YUCK .. i shot a 378 with thirteen 11s ... i had a great time and really turned it on on the second half of the course . shooting nine 11s out of 20 targets . good news is that i finished in 4TH place overall in the Heartland Triple Crown .. yea i missed 3rd by 2 points but i was just hoping to make the top 10 . heres the link if you guys want to check out my scores overall...www.hickoryridge3d.com . then go under 2004 IBO triple crown . check under Hunter Class ( HC ) and look for Tony Keim..yup thats me .... just you wait till next year im going to give those boys a run for there money . i have another shoot this up coming weekend SW Iowa Bowhunters and then sometime in july i plan on shooting Montezuma with Mike again. well i guess im a full fledged 3Der now . i just love this game ! Strut10
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Me and the Mrs. shot a 3D yesterday (her first in almost a year). I started like a house on fire. I 12'ed the first 6 targets (this club scores 10,8,5,0 though). Then I had a wonderful event of "operator error" which caused me to miss my first target ever. Guess it had to happen sometime. Anyhow.........we finished up at 267 for me (291 if 12's counted) and 257 for the Mrs. (267 with 12's). All in all, I was very happy with the way I was shooting. Jus hard to pull yourself up after a zero and I 5'ed a darn 16 yarder from a goofy position. The Mrs. was smokin' for not having flung arrow one since last October. Okbwhtr
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. ASA Pro/am My team won the team shoot on Fri. I lead in the scoring with 407 with 7 12's and won $100.00 Dug a hole on Sat shooting 15 down in open B class. Shot at the 12's on Sun and shot 6 down. Diffiantly not a good tournament for me. Had a blast and weather was great. Enjoyed meeting lots of folks and hopefully get my LX back I will be shooting well again. I shot my Ovation at Illinios due to limb crack on LX
billkay
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Shot a 280/22 yesterday which is about the 2nd or 3rd trip out this year. Had trouble with my yardage estimation. My son shot a 220/12 on his 1st trip of the year. The course was a 300/30 course with only 10's and x's counting. Tony
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Bill you only shot 20 down and its only your 3rd time out ! Hmm i guess them ASA boys are lucky you didnt go to the Pro/Am ... good shooting.. i shot at the SW Iowa Bowhunters on sunday . i shot very well . i had 1 5 on the first target . a standing bear that always gives me fits. problem was i thought it was 41 yds , but it was only 36 . after that i got on a good swing and ended up with 377 out of 400 ... its my best score yet and this place has many downhill shots out to 47 yds. i had 9 eights , 1 five and thirty 10s. best shot had to be at a 36 yd axis deer. it had so many leaves around it i could barely see the target . it was a bad side hill and bad footing shot also. but it had a small hole to shoot through . Whappp !!!!deadcenter 10 dont know of my place but i have a feeling its going to be a tough score to beat.
Strut10
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Me & the Mrs. hit a new (for us) shoot this morning. The course did not feel "comfortable" to either of us. The trails were poorly marked and poorly groomed. Most of the course was through a recently timbered mess. The majority of targets were small Rhineharts. Anyhoo..........I really should have stayed home on the front half. But things picked up on the 2nd half and I shot 11 10's and 4 8's back there. I finished with a "blazing" 255 and the Mrs. a 233. Things have been better. The good news is, after we came back in, there were a couple guys shooting at a Rhinehart bighorn ram from the parking lot. It was 58 yards. So, what the heck.......there was a bank behind it.......I won't lose any arrrows. I gave "Kentucky windage" with my 40 yard pin and shot an 8. So I kept shooting and kept pounding the vitals. It ended up that me and the son of the guy that runs the pro-shop I go to got into a contest to see who could shoot the thing in the eye first. We were shooting 3 arrows each. His dad (the shop guy) left me swap in his stabilizer..........a 14" Archery Horizons Shock Extreme for my 7" Neutralizer. The thing weighed over a pound, but GOOD HEAVENS!!!!!! It made everything pull right in and settle down. I had several 3-shot groups in the 3" range!!!!! That just ain't me!! Between the two of us we were putting 90% of our arrows on that ram's head (it was pretty windy and them stabilizers are like a ship's sail in the wind). What a blast we had. Probably shot 100 arrows apiece at the eye. Neither of us hit it. I mean.......we were within 1/32", 1/16", 1/8".......you couldn't put a half a ram's eye anywhere else on the things head without it having 3 holes in it. But we just could not squarely hit the dumb thing. Tell ya what, though.............I'm gonna have me a 50 and 60 yard pin and a better stabilizer real soon!! Tony
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Strut 10... see most people think im crazy for shooting such a heavy stabilizer . but it helps to steady the bow a lot... my stabilizer weighs in at 17 ounces and is 11.7 inches long . when you can hold steadier your able to aim better and then can take advantage of a surprise release ... all in all its going to help your confidence and that will definately help you in the long run... Strut10
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Went to the "home course" this A.M. Shot about average for me at 267 9X. The Mrs. was struggling with something and shot a 219. My buddy Dave hit a 218 (he's been shooting for a week and a half now) and my daughter (age 10) cleaned house in the "cub" category (ages up to 12) with a 193. It was her first shoot ever. hangunnr
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Shot our club benefit shoot today. We raised somewhere near $4000 for Rileys Childrens Hospital. During the two day shoot we had 148 shooters on the course. Shot a 290-27X in hunter class and a 300-25X in open class. It is really showing that I haven't been practicing. hangunnr
Okbwhtr
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Deermans World Championship Me and Griz attended the T.H.E. Deermans World Championship in Ada, Ok. The assc is formed for the hunter. If you think paths to the targets will be open shoots, think again. You get on your knees and bend in all shapes. I will have some pictures later. Well shoot pretty good in one pin class, screw tips and 4" vanes ar feathers are required to shoot this class. One more day left but Im sitting 2nd in the class. Only 3 points out from first. Fun event and always good to see Griz.

My score in blind scrample won the money pot with my shooting partner here from OK. Archers from many states were there. Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Kansas. Tony My dealer has his big sale on that weekend of your trip here. I have to be there on Sat. But we can certainly get together on Sat evening and Sunday and shoot somewhere. TreeStandBowHunter
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Had another shoot today. Not my best but I shot the best I could for today. Last week I had a 202/240 in Bowhunter class. Today, it was a pretty hard set-up, 174/240. The highest score in Bowhunter class was 184 so I guess my lousy score isin't so depressing afterall Plus it doesn't help if you have 2 5's either. Tony
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. well i shot the Iowa Games today and i shot in the Open division. i will say there were many tough targets but i shot great for my first time with scope and long stabilizer. i shot 391 and had eleven 12s. yea i had three 5s but this course was tough. many shots that you couldnt see the distance all the way to the target ...and you guys know how that goes.. i dont know where i placed but i think im in 3rd right now. i will have to wait until the scorres are final . they are posted but im not sure if its right yet.. dg
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. I took my 14 (Zach) and 11 (Joseph) year old sons out yesterday to a 3d shoot. It was Zach's 1st shoot and he shot 160 out of 30 targets. He hadn't practiced much and it showed. He got kind of frustrated after missing a few. But I just kept showing support for good shots, told him to forget about the bad. He had a good time. Joseph had a ball and couldn't stop shooting. When we were waiting at the stakes for the group out front, he wanted to keep pounding the misc target butts the club had in the woods with burlap animal covers. I'd say his best shot was a bedded deer at 23 yards. The boy nailed a 10. They both got a 12 and some 10's. Jo got a bunch of 8's and Zach had a string of 5's. They both had a ball and lasted 30 targets (something I was worried about). But Dad had the biggest smile on his face just having them along! It was an awesome day....... MCH
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Just thought I'd post my first ever 3-D score: A whopping 220. A 271 won the tourney and I finished 8th overall. Although my score wasn't up there, I never missed a target or lost an arrow.(which was my goal) I will probably shoot a tourney at Paris, TX this weekend and my goal there will be to lower my 8 counts. It was hard for my friend and I to spot the 10 circle. Having never shot 3-D's before.
Tony
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Mccurtain good bino help a lot . i use a pair of 8X42 Nikons . it enables me to pick a spot i can aim on to make 10 ring shots. well the final scores are in . i placed 3rd in the Iowa games in the Open division. its bronze for me . not to bad for the first time shooting Open gear and from the Open stakes. im off to Raccoon Ridge this friday to shoot with Ryan definately im shooting Open from now on.. i might as well step up to the big boys and see what i have got ... MCH
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Just got back from my second Archery tournament. I shot a 251/330. Good enough for third place in hunter class at the Archers for Christ tourney. Went with another friend of mine and his son. They shoot just about every tournament. He shot a 273 and his son shot a 270. He got 3rd in his class and his son placed first in mine. Had a great time. I shot six more X's than I did in my first tourney, and this course was a little harder. Most of the scores were lower than usual. Ranged some targets at 45+. I did miss a bedded buck at 30, though, for my first missed shot. I had it ranged right, I just punched my release. Kinda nice scoring my first trophy in my second tournament. Probably won't get another for quite a while.
Tony
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. i shot raccoon ridge friday to prepare for my Oklahoma shoot .. i started keeping track of the distances i estimated to the targets and i found that they are just to close ! 28 yd adverage ? i only shot three 8s and one 6 out of 40 targets .. so i made my own shots .. had a 47 yd moose , moved back to 57 yds ...bingo 10 ring.. moved back on a caribou at 41 and shot it from 51 ..bingo 10 ring ... shot at a goat target from steep up hill at what i estimated at 33 yds ...bingo 10 ring... hey im getting pretty good at this ... shot at a groundhog for double points at around 41 yds ...bingo 10 ring for 20 points ..hehe ok so i was a little lucky .. shot at a skunk at 16 yds a 6 ! yuck what was that ... oh well you cant 10 ring them all... i talked to Gary the owner and told him he needed to move the targets for the open shooters from 10 to 15 yards further back .. he just looked at me like i was nuts ...he said but everyone cant shoot like you .. that made me feel really good. i need a really hard course to shoot all the time . so that when i go somewhere else to shoot i will have the practice i need. MCH
Re: Post your 2004 scores here. Went to the MCAA tourney Sunday. It was a 28 target course and I finished with a 257. I had two fives and five 11's. Not sure where I placed. Last time a 257 was good enough for third. This course seemed similar....who knows? I'll find out later this week.
