Turkeygirl
Now..I already know the species in the photo...just wondering how many of you know what they are? It's a male and female I took a photo of today off our backporch. We actually had just a couple and now we have a flock of them I just noticed today...around 10 or so I'd guess. I love these little guys....another masterpiece of God's creation;)
Ohiobucks
Immature cardinals, right? The one with shades of red is the male. Tominator will know for sure though, he's got my back. (In most cases......)
Turkeygirl
Nope...you are wrong....like a whole other species wrong, lol. No gold star for you:-p
Ohiobucks
Oh well, I tried. Tominator is the bird brain around here....
Tominator
Redpolls. Just read an article on them a couple weeks ago. Seems they are getting farther south than they normally do. I need to put out my feeders, I've never seen one around here. BTW--give kudos to Tom for trying. Before he met me, he wouldn't have even answered this thread. Last year he would have said "birds." This year he actually guessed a species.
Adjam5
How about a m/f Pine Siskin?
Tominator
How about a m/f Pine Siskin? Good guess, but siskins don't have any red on them. The pic is a pair of redpolls. They are sometimes confused with house finches.
buckee
House finches, and I love those little birds. OOPs..Tominator has got it. I thought they were House Finches, but the black spot in front of the eyes gives them away.

buckee
I'll have to look closer at my house finches around here. They may not be what I thought they were after all
Ohiobucks
I don't deserve the silver for my guess on the bird, but I do deserve it for knowing that Capt. Bird Brain would be in soon to guess it correctly.
