OJR
I've had that feeling several times! It seems as the season drags on and nothing is happening, it gets that way real quick! Of course, if you spot a nice buck, you will forget about all that in one big hurry! LOL!!

unioncountyslayer
Andrea, I went through that this season. The action around here was terrible compared to years past, due in part to the drought and dried up creeks and such. I just got plain tired of sitting and not seeing anything. So I just took a couple weeks off and did other things I enjoy (Yes there are a few other things other than hunting. I know, hard to believe.) Just figured I'd give it another shot next season. Plus, I have the Milk River to look forward to in Nov.

preacherman
I agree with Mark...........take a little time off, especially if your season is still in and then see where it goes from there.
HUNTINGMAN
Take a break and dont push yourself as far to burn yourself out on something you love doing.
ruttinbuc
I had been hunting since September up to now. At the end of my Kansas hunt in the middle of November I felt really burned out. I went hunting, but only for a few days a week instead of the usual routine. Still felt like crap. I went to the doctor around Christmas and she ordered blood work. Turns out my blood sugar was way out of whack and have since been trying to control it. I certainly feel a whole lot better. I guess I was reading the wrong signs. Restless and tired could be physical instead of mental.
jbeck
I go golfing, But that is just me. I go fishing, If I want to feel like hunting again, I work on my honey do list. LOL
wtnhunt
Can be tough to keep going late season here when you are not seeing anything. Might skip a couple times and then get back at it.
WVdeerhunter
I felt they way in bow season this year and was the first time i have ever missed the 1st day. It was hot working on the house alot not seeing anything so i didnt bow hunt but 3 or 4 times and now that seasons over I hate that i didnt hunt every day. Back to not seeing anything killed a 174" 13 point 1st day of gun season that was running in the same place i was bow hunting would that had been nice to got with a bow but in stead i was not in my stand much. So if you have hunted much in your life dont give up the day you take off might be the day he comes by. It will be over to some for ya and the big cats will be flopping.:D:D:D

NS whitetail
Don't hunt if it's like work to you.....take some time off and get back out when you feel like it Just what I was thinking sometimes people turn hunting into a job ( with no pay ), when I feel like it gets to be something that I "have" to do and not what I "want" to do -- I take some time off
horst
Get out of your tree stand.I was sick of sitting in them to at one time, so I started hunting from the ground, puts a whole new twist on things and its like starting over, you have to relearn what works and what doesnt, it opens up a lot of different options, stalking, sitting, still hunting, trying to out manuver them.Plus when it works out its the ost exciting thing youll experience. Guest Andrea
I have til Feb. 24th to hunt. Hunting from the ground would definitely be new for me. Not sure how good I'd be though. Might give it a shot. Lately it has begun to feel like work. Too much pressure. I feel like if I don't go every single day then I might be missing the "big one", but then I sit there and......................nothing. I've let several younger bucks walk ( 4 points, 6 points) and now I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever see anything bigger.
Tecumseh
When it starts to feel like work it's time to take a break from it,You still have time to to get back out before the season ends.

Rhino
I wish I could help you Andrea. Bottom line for me is, when I'm burnt out that's pretty much it for the season for me. From keeping my journal I've found that I generally start to get burnt out somewhere around 75 hunts (counting morning and afternoons as seperate hunts) hunting here at home. I made it through 81 this year. Keeping that in mind I try to pace myself so that I don't get burnt out before the rut is completely over. For that reason I'll take a break when I don't think the weather is very good for deer movement. That way I usually save some gas in my enthusiasm tank until the season comes to an end. This year I ran out with about 10 days left in the MS deer season. Now those numbers I talked about don't count my out of state hunting trips. I never have had a problem keeping my enthusiasm level up while I'm hunting on the road.
