Lesnar Vs. Mir

Actually, I picked Mir. Lesnar kicked his butt until Mir got a hold of his leg and then it was over. I think if you give Lesnar some more experience and he'll be tough to beat in the heavyweight division.

Made out pretty good tonight. Only lost one match all night.:D

I have to agree with ya on this one, he was really beating him bad until Mir got his leg. He needs some experience and he will be hard to beat. Hope to see him back!! Plus he is a big time deer hunter. He said in an interview that he does not watch tv except for his hunting shows :D

But at this level of the game, it only takes one mistake to end up on the losing end of the equation, and Mir proved it, submitting Lesnar 90 seconds into the opening round.

geee, glad I never wasted $50 pay perview to watch that :rolleyes:

I used to watch UFC, but I would much rather see guys pound on each other ( boxing ) than submission moves  -- boring to watch them hold each other, holding is for lovers not fighters :p:D

I just don't understand why the ref stopped the fight in the beginning when Lesnar was just pounding Mir. I watched the fight with a guy who also does cage fighting and said that it looked like Mir tapped out when Lesnar was beating on him so the ref stopped the fight but Mir told him that he didn't tap, so Lesnar really won.

this is why he stopped the fight :

Within seconds of the opening bell, Lesnar had dumped Mir on the canvas and started reigning down blows. """An inadvertent shot to the back of the head by Lesnar forced a stoppage of the action""" and a deduction of a point by referee Steve Mazzagatti though, and gave Mir a chance to clear his head.

I was pretty ticked off at the fact that Mir was having it handed to him from the get go and it got stopped. If the ref hadn't stopped it to give Mir a break, it would have been over within seconds. In my opinion, Mir lost big time and Lesnar won by a landslide. You wonder if the ref didn't have a bet somewhere since the odds were good for Mir to lose.

I read about the fight but did not see it. When Lesner gets some more experience, espicially with his Jiu Jutsu, he will be tough to beat. I picked him to win also.....

I posted about this in an earlier thread wondering if Mir's Black Belt in Jiu-Jitsu would be the difference and apparently it was. Sounds like if Lesnar works on his Jiu-Jitsu, not only will it make him even more dangerous, but he will be better able to defend against it more effectively. That should make him a "fairly dangerous man"!;)

Ok the fight should have been stood up...how do I know? In my 5-2 record of mma fighting I have taken a couple illegal blows like shots to the back of the head and if not given time and a chance to recover it would have been all over. I know people are saying "tlook at all the warning's the fight earlier in the night got from the same ref about shots to the back of the head...why didn't they stand them up?" Well first off a man Lesnar's size can hurt you bad with a shot like that...let alone the multiple ones he delivered when Mir was doing what according to the rules is a good move...get your head under you apponent so he can't hit your head...not so you give up the back of your head and get seriously hurt...that rule is there for a reason and Lesnar got carried away and was careless...hopefully he will learn from it.
