It just slides into the slot on the side of my lap top. It is not as fast as dsl, but it is faster than dial up. The main down fall to it is the 2 year contract I had to sign. But, I had my lap top with me a couple of times on the deer stand. Being on the internet at the same time that your hunting is cool!!!! If you follow the instructions that come with the wireless router you will be set! It's nice to have, I'm able to do homework sitting on the couch or laying in bed. Do you have some type of high speed internet (dsl, cable, or satalite). Or are you getting a "air" card that works off of cellular towers? What equipt do you need ? If you have some type of high speed internet then you will need a wireless router. And your laptop must have wireless capabilites. I hear there is fixed wireless and mobile wireless. How does those verizon cards work ? I'm sure a contract is involved....but you purchase the contract get your wireless card and slide it into the port on your laptop. Then where ever verizon has service you have internet....Nice to take it with you where ever you go. Check this link out. We have wireless and my wife, neiphew and son all use it with their laptops! I am thinking my neighbers are too! My neiphew parks out in front of my house and does his college homework with it!
